Based on whatever criteria you wish to use, QB ratings, observation, passing stats, W-L record as a starter or backup please vote as to whether you believe Kyle Boller is an "average" NFL QB or below average. Please try to be objective and not let your fandom swing your vote either way.

I won't answer your question until you answer mine in the other thread.

Wow, Boller is inching closer and closer into being more thought of as below average than average in this poll. I think if this poll was on any major football forum it wouldn't even be close. Unfortunately I don't post on any football forums that have the poll feature or I would do so.

So average NFL QB in general, not average starting NFL QB?

Having watched football for 50 years, I think Boller is not merely average, but well above average, and possibly a Hall of Famer. What a strange question to ask!

FYI as to why it is not so strange. There was a raging debate between me, NewMarketSean and another poster on a since locked thread, as to they claiming Boller is average and I am claiming he is below average. Thus, the poll came about.

Is there anybody on this board who doesn't know you think Kyle Boller is below average? Hasn't this been made abundantly clear?

You are totally missing the point. The point is to see what the majority of the board thinks. Not what I think. I don't get your post it makes no sense whatsover!! Why is it strange to poll the board as to what they think when there was such a spirited debate over the very same subject? I don't get that mindset or your thought process in any way, shape or form! Youy may certainly disagree with my take on Boller but to question the logic of polling the board I don't get why?

The point of this thread is to bait somebody into disagreeing with you, so you can harangue them with your redundant ravings about how awful Kyle Boller is. What else is there to fill one's time with on a Saturday afternoon in January than Boller bashing?

Well that is your opinion but I can assure you it is wrong. I was the one being "baited'" if you want to get technical about it but that I could care less about. I was merely conducting a poll. I have no idea why you are acting so hostile over this. Again, it makes no sense. The red you gave me for no apparent reason seems to have come from out of nowhere as well. I don't understand your seeming vendetta against me for no reason? What gives?
BTW, I see you are the same age as my daughter, so I am sorry if old foggies like me annoy you but it shouldn't warrant a red!

It may be a good debate, but it is a debate that has been hashed over ad nauseum in the countless threads that OldFan has hijacked. Kyle Boller could be run over by a truck and killed and five days later OldFan will want to discuss how he's a bad quarterback. It borders on trolling, and I'm not the only one who gets sick of it.

Ok, but the same could be said for what Tony was doing here with Brian Billick; by your standards. I don't have a dog in this fight, I just don't see anything wrong with it.

Since when is a poll considered trolling? If so than that would be the case for any poll period, as there is not all that much difference I guess in polling, and trolling. :(

1. This is from a pre-season game.
2. The first pick was a wrong route run by the WR.

The bottom line in this Boller debate is that Boller is not the QB of the future for the Ravens. Whether people think he is average or the anti-Christ doesn't matter. He hasn't shown enough to be relied on to win games.
The Ravens should be looking for their next QB. They have Smith who could be something, they have Boller who is probably nothing more than a decent back-up at this point and they have a question mark with McNair who is probably going to be cut.
So the way I see things, the Ravens will probably get a veteran QB, someone like Losman or similar to that, and have the 3 QB's battle it out for the starting job next year. I don't see anyone coming in here and being given the job unless we get McNabb which I think would be a bad decision.
Boller Has had chance after chance. Granted a lot of things went wrong ie the O-Line, CB's, Jarret Johnson, D-line, our warrior Steve, and kyle the scrambler boller didn't help when he got his chance. SO after 2 and a half seasons of watching boller try to play the qb postion and still not grasping (troy Smith a rookie looked more composed out there then any time boller has been in there) I put down a below average qb.

There is a poll on what the Ravens will do regarding the QB situation next season on another NFL forum I post on. Anyway, I posted over there that I think if McNair gets cleared health-wise they keep him, and he will be the starter. However, if he falters or gets hurt like this past season, Smith will be next in line. I think they only keep Boller if they don't draft a QB early. I think if they do Boller is gone, one year contract or not.

I think Boller is kept. Smith does look pretty good but has only played 2 games in the NFL. I'm not sure a new HC would rely on him as a back-up next year. You know what Boller gives you and maybe a new HC plays more to his strengths, IE, having him run and throw more, and throw deep if he is the starter or gets PT as the back-up.
I'm not sure how much McNair makes next year but I do know that his contract was back-loaded and we'd be getting into that in his 3rd year. Besides, he looked like crap last year. No way he is kept.
I like the idea of having 3 potential starters battle it out. It's never been done in B-more before. And who knows, it may spark something in Boller, because he's never had to fight for his starting job before. He was either the starter or the back up.
Of course, the Ravens could also draft a QB, which would be OK with me. Then the drafted QB would be #3 and Boller/Smith would battle it out for the starter's job. Or, have 4 QB's in camp and have one, other than the drafted guy, get cut at the end of camp.
There are plenty of options out there for a new HC to use to get the most out of the talent on this offense.

Wow, this has become an extremely close poll. I find it odd though that the Leftwich poll has him below average which certainly runs counter logic-wise to the results on this poll, unless the fact he is not a Raven brings out some kind of bias against him that way.
