Amazing! How much better has the Wizards team gotten this year on defense? 78 points to the Celts...Wow!

Yep they are much better on D but alot of that comes from slowing the game down. Having Daniels run the point really changes the way they play and some of that is good. Yeah I know, they miss Arenas but they are really learning to play playoff ball with Daniels at the point. He makes them have to execute alot more than the one man show named Arenas. BTW I still love Arenas. :D
One thing that really makes me scratvh my head is I don't even think they played that well.

I see what your saying, because Jamison had a horrid day shooting going 4 for 15 for 10pts and Butler had a measely 16pts on 5-17 shooting.

Yeah, it was wasn't a good game by Butler or Jamison like we're used to seeing. It was an average game by everyone. But a win is a win.

Make it 2! I'm so pumped right now. What a tremendous finish by the entire team and Caron was unbelievable down the stretch.

WOW! TWO in a row against the best team in basketball!! They are really playing astronomically better on defense then they did last year. Who could forget that we have Pech back as well.

I'm not sure I'd take Lebron James over Caron Butler right now.
Tough Juice is a stud.
In related news, Kwame Brown is now starting for the Lakers. Now watch them completely fall apart.
Greatest trade in NBA history?

You can't be serious about the first part, the second part, yeah, great trade for the Wiz, terrible one for the Lakers as I've said many times on here. Highly doubt it's anywhere close to the worst ever though, the Lakers trading Vlade Divac's for Kobe is one trade that instantly comes to mind. And the Lakers will fall off, doubt they'll completely fall apart though.

Sometimes I think you know a ton about the NBA. Then I read posts like these.

LeBron's overrated.
Tough Juice is underrated.
Maybe that doesn't mean Caron > LeBron, but I think they can certainly be mentioned in the same sentence.
The Cavs are 19-18 with their team intact. The Wiz are 20-16 without their best scorer.
Caron deserves MVP consideration for how he's played so far. The one thing he hadn't done before was really take over a game and he did it twice in a row against Boston and nobody could stop him getting to the hole in the 4th quarter. Not only is he a tremendous defender, rebounder, passer, and he doesn't miss a free-throw (something LeBron still can't figure out), but now he can score pretty close to the best of them too.
And watch, the Lakers will fall off hugely without Bynum, and Butler for Brown was one of the biggest trade heists in NBA history. I was half-kidding about choosing Caron over LeBron, but LeBron's not as good as people think he is and Caron is much better than you think.
Keep it rolling tonight with a win over the Knicks! No let-downs!

I said I think the Wiz would be around 5 games over .500 when Gil comes back (if he does). I didn't think I would be close to being right though... :002_sdrool:
Playing good ball right now, I love the D too. That is what could keep this team in the hunt.

I think he does, but sometimes doesn't seem like one because he's a homer.
Caron Butler is nowhere close to being as good as James. LeBron is the best player in the league, Caron is not in the top 10, probably not in the top 15 either.
Yes, there will be a decent drop off with the Lakers, they'll likely be an average to slightly above average team during the next 8 weeks.

Going to the game tonight at MSG. Might be a little late b/c I have class, but I can't wait to see the Wiz in action. I'm going to be wearing my awesome Bling Zero (http://32049.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/Article/Index/article/American-Apparel-G-ZERO-METALLIC-GOLD-Gilbert-Arenas-T-shirt-1888297)T-shirt. I know Gil is injured, but it's basically my only piece of Wiz-related clothing.

Unfortunately, I don't think he's going to get it because he plays in Washington and everyone else is so zeroed in on either Kevin Garnett or Steve Nash.

Or maybe it's because he's not close to being the best player in the league, or close to being on the best team in the league.
James, Paul, KG, Howard, Bryant, Duncan, Nash, Boozer, and Dirk are better MVP candidates.

I disagree with some of them. I put Caron ahead of KG, Nash, and Boozer. The award is called the Most VALUABLE Player, not the best player. You also don't need to be on the best team to win the MVP. If our team lost Caron, where would we be?!?! Just how many wins has Caron given us?!?! Now I never said he should be MVP I just said that he certainly deserves top 5 consideration.

Well typically MVP's are among the best players in the league on one of the best teams. When you aren't on one of the top 10 teams, and you aren't one of the top 10 players, how can you have a case to be the MVP?
Where would The Celtics, Suns, or Jazz be without those players? Even if you take those 3 out, Caron isn't in the top 5.

I see your arguement but I beleive the Celts would be fine, they would still have Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, The Suns would still have Amare and Sean Marion while the Jazz would still have Deron Williams and at times a healthy Andrea Kirilenki and Mhmet Okur.

The C's wouldn't be an above average team without KG, they'd have no good post options, and Ray Allen isn't what he once was. The Suns do have a lot of talent, but Nash is the straw that stirs the drink so to speak. They would go from a potential #1 seed to a team that would struggle to make the playoffs if they lost Nash. Well Okur hasn't been healthy, and has struggled even when healthy, Boozer is their best player, and they wouldn't be close to a playoff team without him imo. All the teams including the Wiz would be greatly hurt by losing the players we're talking about, it's hard to tell exactly how much, so I'm just going with the better players as being more valuable.

Well, I have no arguement here, you said it pretty much the way it should be said. Well putt my friend.
