Since I don't see a review I will supply.

My thought on this is that if you want decent escapist fun then this is a pretty good film to see before it leaves theaters. If you can get past the anachronisms then it will provide you and your family (very much a family film) with 2 hours of solid enjoyment. Nick Cage is rarely great but always solid, and Justin Bartha (the sidekick) is as funny as he was in the first one. Ed Harris puts in his normal good supporting role. He is not as good as Bean at being a badguy, but I don't think that is the intention with this character. If you liked the first one you will like this one. If you want a desent family action film then you will like this too.

I didn't like the first one at all, plus I'm not a fan of Nicolas Cage, so I don't plan on seeing this one. Maaaaaaaaybe I'll see it on DVD if theres nothing else to rent.

Thanks for the review.

I thought it was good escapism, not as good as the first. For this one, the locations drove the plot instead of the other way around.

They also made no attempt to fill the plot holes. The first one sort of stood up to conversation after the movie. This one really didn't. For example, with Ed Harris' motive given at the end of the movie, explain why he had dozens of people shooting at Nicolas Cage, et. al., earlier in the movie.

It almost reminded me of the hack way Francis Ford Coppola assembled Godfather III. "Ok, there was a killing in the third reel of the first Godfather, so we'll put a killing during the third reel of this one as well."

Still, I'm sure my wife will want to buy it and I won't mind watching again.
