...that's what this is like.
Who do professors give an outline of material for class, then read you that outline?

I had a math professor once (this French guy) who gave you notes for each of his lectures, then proceeded to write them on the board again while he spoke them in broken English.

Yes, one of my biggest pet peeves. Not just when I was in school, but during any meeting at work, church, etc. We can read the material for ourselves. If that's all this meeting is, it's a waste of time.

Because they've got their PhD in whatever-it's-in, but they don't know squat about actually teaching anything, that's why.

True but at least you didn't get homework that first day b/c you knew you would just review the outline!

(hands you an ice pack) After the swelling in your head goes down from all the punching you did....do a Bedard wind up and waffle your professor with it! :)

Aaaand I had to go through this today. And I'll have to go through it tomorrow too because I have Tues-Thurs classes and M-W-F classes.
I wish professors would just hand out the syllabus then send everyone home on the first day of class. We never accomplish anything anyway.

Here's a thought: don't go to the first day of class, and swing by their office later in the day to get the syllabus, and make up some lie about how your car didn't start. (shrug) prolly not but it was a good thought.
