April 29th. While this was a little bit later than I was hoping for it is nice to have a firm release date and not just Q2 2008. At least I have some extra time to try and catch up on some of the games I havn't gotten to yet. (Including COD 4! Don't worry I'll get to it!) Here's the link if you want to read the whole blurb.

I just hope that the release doesn't get pushed back even more but I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm looking forward to it. But at the same time I'm glad its a little while away. I still have to finish Super Mario Galaxy, I've yet to even start Mass Effect and Super Paper Mario, and I have 5 DS games I've yet to play.

You will definitely need that time. Mass Effect takes a while to beat even if you just play it straight through, but it's definitely worth wile to do some exploring and side missions along the way as long as replaying several of the decisions you make along the way just to see what other possible outcomes there are.

You do know that GTA IV is coming out for XBox 360 too right? And the 360 version is going to have exclusive downloadable episodes.

Yes. The GTA release is what will finally prompt me to get a next gen system. I'm still undecided about which system as of yet, but I'm leaning towards the PS3. The 360 has more games that I would be interested in but I won't blow that kind of money on a system that has such a high probability of failing and quite frankly, I can't understand why so many others put up with it.
My PS2 has been a bull- never had any problems with it. I'm assuming the PS3 would be equally as well made. Still I'm a big strategy buff and there are plenty more enticing RTS on the 360 right now. I'm just not sure yet.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the new XBOX 360's do not have the RRoD problems. They fixed the problem with better cooling system and CPU placement inside the system, I believe...

Less than two months to go. There have been a few more previews of the game and I've read nothing but positive things about the game. Should be awesome when it comes out.

Well now that the HD-DVD format war has ended, PS3 has to have the edge since it comes with a Blu-Ray player.
And my friend just had to return his PS3 because it malfunctioned. I've also heard some horror stories about XBox 360 too. The more advanced these systems get, the more problems they have, it seems.

I would think you could. Like what was said above about going to Target, Best Buy, etc. I just know they hype for this game is crazy right now, I just hope you can get one. I've had my pre-ordered from EB Games for awhile and plan on going to the midnight launch.

Yeah, I have 2 $10 BB rewards that I was saving to use towards this myself. It should be a great game, the hype is crazy though, so I won't be surprised to see a chunk of people take off work to play it all day :)

I preordered GTA IV from Best Buy with free shipping because I am having cash flow problems and had Best Buy gift cards to use... The reason I pre-ordered is because the nearest Best Buy is 40 miles away and I would rather get the game a day or two later than spend $15 in gas to round-trip it to Best Buy... I am attending school at UC- Santa Barbara and the nearest Best Buy is 48 miles south in Oxnard (right next to the nearest Chick-fil-A). You can rest assured that there are multiple Best Buy's in Orange County.

Right now, my preordered copy is in Rancho Cucamonga, CA about 150 miles away. Unfortunately due to Best Buy's shipping system it goes from UPS to the post office in Santa Barbara who delivers it to me the next day which means I won't get it until Wednesday... I can't wait...

Incidently, UCSB isn't in Santa Barbara either, it's ten miles north. I attended Orange Coast College while I lived with my aunt in Orange County... I guess I should change my location to save people from all this confusion that it is apparently causing...

It only adds an hour worth of gameplay, but I think it's well worth it. Personally, I love how the introduction of the new alien race (i.e., the evil Batarians).
Also, the 50 achievement points you get for finishing the mission certainly don't hurt. :)

I only played for about an hour or so yesterday so I can't form much of an opinion yet, but I do have one gripe though. I don't think the accents are that good, this could be because several of the people at my work are from Russia or the Ukraine so I hear the real thing every day.
Can anybody thats been playing give a report/review yet? I want to get this, but I just want to make sure its not a let down. All the official reviews make it out to be the greatest game of all time.

I'd like to offer an opinion, but I've only been playing for a few hours and I don't think it would be fair to make a full judgement on it. From the little bit I've played though I wouldn't not consider it the GOAT.

The official reviews aren't too far from the truth. The scope of the game is absolutely amazing. There's not a doubt in my mind that you'll have a blast playing GTA IV, Tank.

My oldest son bought it so I played about an hour last night. so far it's pretty cool, but i still think the fighting controls are slow and clunky. It's start's off a little slow as well since I ended up going bowling with some woman on a date but had to quit out before the end so I'm not sure what happened next... Either way, I'm still feeling my way around.

Yeah, I have tried it about 5 times and each time got wooped. I have only tried GTA Deathmatch though, I want to find a good group of people to try the others...

Yeah some of my friends and I played it a good chunk this week. It's a little glitchy, and all of the idiots making rooms with auto-aim on, and chat for the whole room not just the team, are ruining it quickly. Even the biggest noob can be good at this game with auto-aim on, and a lot of them are catching on and trying to switch it on at the last second before the round starts. Problem is, it eliminates any skill to the game and just makes it a game of who can pull the LT first to lock on.

Hand-to-hand combat sucks in the game. Get the bat across from your first save house. It's a lifesaver.

1. Who currently are you dating?
I am dating Carmen. For one, she is hilarious and if you call her when you are hurt, she "heals" you over the phone because she is a nurse. Plus, she digs going to the strip clubs. I am also hitting off Kate on the side, that woman can drink!
2. Has anyone played the Heat-like mission yet with Packie, his brother and St. Michael?
In all seriousness, I loved this mission, probably one of my most favorite 5 minutes of gaming experience ever. I do not want to spoil anything so I will wait to see if others played. But it was INTENSE!

Does the story improve? I'm much further behind since my XBOX was decommisioned for a while. I'm not even sure how far along I am. I just completed a mission where I had to kill either Playboy X or Dwayne. So wherever that is in the game is where I'm at. That said I have not been too impressed with the story line so far. It's just kind of felt like I do a few missions for someone then they introduce me to someone else I do a few missions for them then lather rinse and repeat.

Basically the same, you keep moving up the "gangster" ladder with some new missions mixed. The story does evolve though as you get deeper in the game, I am not sure exactly where Nicko says his meaning for being in the US is in the story but you will find it soon.

Who did you kill PlayBoy X or Dwayne? I killed Dwayne because he was a little whiny baby.

I 86'd Playboy X. Dwayne seemed like a tougher guy (besides the whining) than Playboy X.

Did you get anything, I think my buddy said he killed him and got Playboy's SafeHouse...I did not get anything for killing whiny Dwayne except a kill in my stats.

Yea just the safehouse. Seeing as how Dwayne just got out of jail he has no money for you but the safehouse is a plus.

Anybody download Lost&Damned yet? I am thinking about downloading it tonight with the woman working.
There is too much going on in my XBOX right now.
- CoD:WaW Multiplayer is addicting as hell
- NHL 09 Season is ready to enter the playoffs
- GTA4: L&D is ready for download, and I absolutely loved GTA4 (Niko) style
I only have 1200 Microsoft Points though, need to go get some more in order for a download.
