Pats 27, Giants 17...with the full recognition that that number was basically pulled out of thin air, and that the final could be anything from a mega blowout, to the tightest, lowest-scoring SB in a while.

I can't not bet them now. I did have the Giants on the money line on Sunday at +260 (see your conference championship predictions thread), so it more than made up for the Pats play against San Diego.

Pats win 38-17... Don't really see why everybody in Baltimore is rooting for the Giants. The Eli Manning- John Elway parallel trumps any dislike I have for the Patriots. How can any Baltimore football fan root for a quarterback who leveraged a draft day trade to get to a more desirable city?

Because Bill Bellichick is a (insert choice word), Rodney Harrison is an arrogant, self-satisfied, admitted cheater who also takes late cheap shots against opposing players, and the Patriots have apparently cheated over the years with their taping practices. Oh yeah, did I mention the complete (insert choice word) move of listing Brady as questionable every week for four years?

Pats always win by 3 and the first half isn't usually filled with scoring so I will go 27-24 Patriots.
2 TDs for Moss, both push offs that won't get called.
Actually if the Patriots win I hope Maroney gets the MVP because I really like him. I bet he doesn't get the calls in the goal line though, so even if he gets 120 yards he might not have a TD.
I sound like a real negative nancy I know.

I dunno, I mean, Randy Moss has always been this sort of malcontent, and within a short period of time, he was spouting it too...I think they just have a great structure and leadership that the team buys in to. It's more like a cult than fake.
Actually, I was saying that offhand, but maybe that's part of it. It's like a cult atmosphere...you join that team and you're all "the team, the team, the team."

They started that whole team thing in that Super Bowl, before that everyone was always introduced one by one. I think it's legit to be honest. Everyone loved them when they were the dog, but now it's all about hate..I'm not buying the whole cheating thing. I don't think it could possibly made much of a difference if it happened. Still gotta make the plays on the field, which they have time and time again.

You do have to make the plays on the field, but I mean you know sports, don't you think it is easier to game plan when you know exactly what they are doing?
I mean these guys are world class athletes. The coaches are great game planners, and when they have the answers to the test, it makes it easier to pass.

I know, and I'm certainly not justifying videotaping, don't misunderstand. I' ve just heard so many players throughout the league say that this is being blown way out of proportion. If the players don't buy it, than I'm not either.

Maybe, but this new situation needs to be dealt with. And if they were doing it in 2002, what have they been doing since? I mean they actually get caught 5 years later, and they were known to do it in '02. We don't really know how much that could have helped them and how could the players?
Unless they are doing it too and it is not helping them.

From what I've heard a lot of teams do things like this. Doesn't make it right, but the fact that most coaches around the league were angrier at Mangini than the Pats says a lot to me.

I'm too cheap to get cable. The only reason I'd really want it would be sporting events and since I'd need to get Extra Innings to watch the O's I just skip the cable and pay for mlb.tv on my computer. Where I live in Central Jersey if you live in an apartment building you need cable to get the local stations other than PBS. Somebody told me they used to be broadcast from an antenna on top of one of the WTC towers that was never replaced but I don't know if that's actually true or not.
