I am so sick and tired of hearing this crap...Now, Jim Brown is out there saying Tiger needs to be a spokesman for african americans and that he needs to use his popularity to help fight against racism and things like that.
Give me a break.
Why can't Tiger just do and say what he wants?
This recent stuff with the lynching is ridiculous...The girl didn't mean anything by it...Tiger spoke to her and said it was no big deal. It is amazing how people twist words and look for things to make a controversary.
Just leave the man alone.
There isn't an athlete in the world that I enjoy watching more than Tiger. If he was up there with Jesse Jackson or putting his nose into every cause, I wouldn't respect or like him as much as I do. That is part of his appeal IMO.
To steal a line from Chris Crocker:
LEAVE TIGER ALONE!

Seriously. This isn't Jordan and the LA Riots, no matter how much they talk about it. And Jordan really had no obligation to speak out then, either. This is a mountain made from a mole hill. Like you said, the girl slipped. They talked privately. It should be over.
The problem of racism will persist much longer while we make issues out of non issues.

Watch it guys, the PC police could come after you for calling her a girl. She's 37 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Tilghman). :p :D ;)

I was just teasing. It was a big deal to my mom's generation of feminists, but there's really no equivalent of "guy" in the English language to refer to a relatively young woman informally, so I don't see it as demeaning. Honestly I'd rather be referred to as a "girl" than "woman" or "lady." I just thought it was ironic how both of you guys called a grown woman a "girl" in a rant against the PC fascists.

I respect that he is a huge role model for the African-American community, but seldom is his Asian heritage similarly acknowledged in the media. It's stories such as the Jim Brown one that reinforce that disparity.

Personally, I think she should be fired.
Not for her statement, but because she's a Dookie.

Tiger can say and do what he wants.
So can Jim Brown.

To make up for it, Tiger plans to sit down with Jim Brown to talk about how to beat up women better.
