This is like a warm fire. Sorrento got the first hit. Sutcliffe looks great. Orsulak started in right. I didn't remeber that . John Miller, man do I miss him. Brooks sounds great doing the color

I remember on the 1954-1994 O's videocassette the highlight of the end of this game: "Here's the pitch: and Sorrento takes a called strike three! and the Orioles are in the win! column on Opening Day." Excellent stuff.

Ah, the halcyon days before "Glenn Davis" became a curse word in Baltimore.

That reminded me why I have him as my all-time fave Oriole. That 1992 season he had was so great. I loved that guy.

If I had a dollar for everytine Brooks said, "the ball just jumps off his bat".

And before the term "President George Bush" made me physically ill...OK, I'll stop there.
Hey, he just mentioned that "George Dubya, who owns the Rangers" was at the game with him.

What an outfiled... Brady, Devo and Joe,,, how will the 2008 outfield compare?
George senior doing play-by-play. Good guy, decent man.

Don't forget Finley the year before...that one was better.
Assuming Scott in LF, Jones in CF and Markakis in RF...this one blows that one out of the water. A little worse defensively, much better offensively. Move Scott to 1B and add Pie to the mix...holy moly.

Heh. Jon Miller is raving about the scoreboard. This is why I love watching old games like this: the retrospective ironies.

Sorrento and Davis got the first hits; Sorrento was first overall. Dunno about homers, but I'm sure you can find that information on one of them interwebs out there.

Griffy did it during 93 all-star game, no? Didn't think anyone else has done it.

In the HR-hitting contest in '93. Nobody's hit it during a game.

You have to admit they've done an incredible job of maintaining the ballpark. It looks just as good today as it did fifteen years ago.
