I'm sick of ESPN. I'm sick of how it's just turned into, basically, a paparazzi channel for sports stars. They focus on the negative WAY to much rather than the positive.

When's the last time you heard something about (insert name) doing something for the community. Now I know that most of the things are done low-key and players don't want a lot recognition for it but come on. I'm tired of "bootgate", "spygate", PACMAN JONES, ect...Let's have a story on B-Rob and the work he does with the Baltimore area kids or something like that...

They do those kinds of stories at least every once and a while on Sportscenter. I think it's partially selective memory and partially that the bad things are more constant stories.

Yeah, I've noticed those stories are usually focused on the Sunday SportsCenter's. Like they can't report on them the other 6 days....

I guess I'm just sick of all media these days and they are taking the brunt of my anger in my post...:)

I have a question. I've always abbreviated Et cetera as "etc." But I see people abbreviating it as "ect." all the time.

Can I get a ruling?

Personally - when I was writing poetry - I liked to use the classic "&c."

It's just cool-looking.

Man, I'd forgotten about that one. Used to use it all the time.

As far as ESPNESNYES...I've found not watching to be an effective antidote to them...

I have noticed ESPN also covers Boston and New York almost exclusively. If a player from those two areas coughs, it is mentioned on ESPN. In contrast, I have not heard one segment on the possible Bedard trade. If Bedard was playing for the Yankees, no doubt we would have 24/7 coverage on it. Today, most of the coverage was on good ol' Roger, and many speculations and musings about steroids. I don't mind them covering it but there is such a thing as TOO MUCH COVERAGE!

"... and Johan Santana has reportedly been traded to the Mets. How does this affect the Yankees and Red Sox?"
