Colds Makin Me Mad!
I was supposed to go into NYC to watch the Super Bowl with a bunch of friends who are big Giants fans. I don't actually care who wins because I don't like either team much, but I figured it would be fun to get drunk with a bunch of passionate Giants fans. Unfortunately on Thursday I started coming down with a cold and all I could think was, "damnit, this had better be gone by Sunday." Well for the first three days it was nothing but a little stuffy nose and sore throat so every three or four hours I'd spray some Vicks spray in my nose and Chloraseptic in my throat and I'd be fine to go out and be functional. Yesterday I thought it was all going away and was singing the praises of Cold-Eeze. However, today I woke up with an obnoxious cough, chest congestion, laryngitis, a fever, and horribly painful sinus pressure. I bailed out on my Giants fan friends so I wouldn't spread the nastiness to a crowded bar full of revelers plus all the people on the commuter train and subway but I was still going to go out to this lame little bar down the street from my apartment with some other friends. Then, just as I'm getting ready to go out and meet my friend to walk there, I have the worst coughing spell of my life. I literally couldn't catch my breath and it went on for about half an hour. So anyway, now I'm home by myself listening on the radio because I don't have cable the only tv channel I get in my apartment is PBS. If the game is close and I can manage not to cough up a lung before halftime I might still go watch in the lame bar, but this is really ticking me off!
Oh yeah and to add insult to injury, this was the first time in my life I've actually wanted to see the halftime show because Tom Petty has been one of my favorite singers since I was a little kid... and I don't even know if they play the audio of the halftime show on the radio.
