I recently saw this at the Charles and would like to hear other peoples opinions. (Definitely worth your time).

The acting was very good. The characters were well conceived. The ending was both surprising and perfectly fitting. I especially enjoyed the theme of men acting like children, even in the face of death. People who want to kill each other are able to joke about it and consider how to best orchestrate their duels. Mixing humor into typically dramatic situations helped point out how ridiculous reasons are used to justify killing, even amongst two rational people.

At the same time I left the movie feeling confused. It was very funny but it also seriously explored religion and death at times. Characters came to legitimate emotional conflicts. It wasn't a pure comedy or drama or action movie. Perhaps that's the point but I don't think I ever felt too attached to anyone one it.

I don't really know my thoughts aren't coherent at this point. Has anyone else seen it?

I finally saw this movie last night after the DVD had been sitting on my desk for about a month. I thought it was pretty brilliant. The movie unravels the plot perfectly. All of the actors gave solid performances. A few times I laughed my butt off for about a solid minute. Colin Farrell, with his accent, is perfect for comedies. I'd recommend it to anyone who liked Boondock Saints and/or Grosse Pointe Blank.

Yeah, I liked it alot too. When I saw the trailers for it, I wasn't sure if I would like it. I came away very pleasantly surprised.

8.5/10

There was definitely some great acting going down here, and there are quite a few hilarious moments, but the characters weren't relatable (human) as it seemed they should be. It's at times bizarre, and goes through quite a few serious themes, possibly too many for any real statement with any of them. It was entertaining, and a good attempt.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the acting was superb and I really loved the pace and the plot. The one thing I didnt like, and I will admit this is a pet peeve of mine after having seen first hand what happens to people when they take a bullet, was when Ken took a bullet to the jugular and still managed to climb all the way back up to the top of the tower and throw himself off when he would have bled out in seconds. Otherwise, fantastic, and I give it 9/10.
