Are you kidding me? There was nothing but wide open 15 foot jump shots for Va Tech after we got up by ten for the final time. Its like we gave up on defense, for a while, and then forgot that Vasallo is the only guy on their team that can shoot outside, and we left him wide open two times. I mean I don't know what to say. Osby is easily the best player on our team. Vasquez had a lot of turnovers and was largely quiet after the first ten minutes. And did Gist have grease on his hands or something? All he did was fumble the ball all night, that guy hasn't played to his normal for a few games now. This game points to nothing but trouble. We have some very tough games down the stretch, and we need Gist to reemerge and Vasquez and Hayes to bounce back if we want a shot at the tourney. This loss really hurts!

As has been noted, we have about 5 players who can really contribute to an ACC team. Of those 5, we really only rely on Vasquez, Gist, and Osby. Whenever Gist or Osby are having a tough time, whether it be playing or with fouls, or first option on the bench is Dave Neal. Dave Neal is not a guy who should be getting major minutes in ACC play. When Hayes or Vasquez are out of the game, we've been relying on Bowie, who has also been able to provide very little in the game.

Losing Gist and Osby is going to hurt a ton next season, especially since none of Dupree, Walker, Gregory, or Burney have showed much of anything this season. Hopefully Gilchrist can provide very big minutes as a freshman.

Also, I am now a believer in playing Neal over Dupree. Dupree can't hold onto the ball to save his life either. He got ripped four times in one play. Him and Gist, freaking soft as a roll of toilet paper. Who would have thought Osby would be such a player? He is a force in the post, the only consistent guy on the team. I just don't get it. It would be a trajedy if we wasted this year. We have shown flashes of brilliance in the past few years, yet seem to peak at the wrong times. Really frustrating stuff.
