I just wanted to say that coming to this board has quite an eye opening experience. To see a group of fans as devoted as all of you, and generally pretty baseball smart, be as civil and tolerant of some us "outsiders" is quite refreshing.
I get frustrated to no end reading Cubs boards and that frustration comes from fellow Cubs fans. I could only imagine the type of grief that would erupt on one of those boards if there was a sudden influx of O fans or any other fans. It wouldn't be pretty as I am sure all the kiddies would be out in full force.
Although we may not agree on somethings, I appreciate the fact that for the most part we can agree to disagree. I wish more sites were this civil.

Right on, thanks for the Kudos.
What type of sites are good to talk some Cubs baseball?
I would be interested in talking to some Cubs fans in the future.

Is it being an elitist if you're objectively better than other people?

I went on the Scouts board for the Cubs.
The mere mention of trading anything of any value for Roberts on that site set people off.
Now, they wanted Roberts but felt they should be able to get him for packages led by players like Cedeno and Fuld.
Ended up being a big waste of time.

The other one is at cubs.mlb.com and it can be downright brutal.

As a long timer here, although mostly a lurker ( I can remember when Hangout was bought by Rivals, and the Davey firing fiasco). I hope the Orioles realize how strong of a fanbase they really have. I can't seem to find another teams fan site that is so active and knowledgeable, especially for a team that has been as bad the Orioles have been. Sure I've seen Son of Sam Horn, but, really is there a better fan site out there for a losing team?

Yeah, we've got it pretty good here. Some aspiring sociologist should study why we're such a superior fan site in every respect and yet keep our humility...oh I know, it's 'cause our team has sucked for a decade.

My other home....www.Newbergreport.com
The Texas Rangers Guru Jamey Newberg, a lawyer in Dallas runs the site that is well referenced by Sickles and Law...Kinda the rangers version of the OH....
And i have to admit, when i first came over to the OH, during the absolute swirl of Bedard and Roberts rumors, everyone treated me fairly....
So just like the 2 fingers referenced, im proud about how civil you guys are, and thats a main factor in why i come back everyday...:)

Jamey is a great guy and hsi site has always been top notch. We used to talk a lot back in the Rivals.com days but he's good people, and knows his stuff.

Riddle question. Nobody's objective or objectively better. It's all subjective. ('Nothing wrong with that.)
Now, some people are more-right more-often, but that's a different issue.

Thanks, we need outsiders to keep us in check, otherwise we drink too much kool aid aren't realistic enough as a group. So you're doing us a favor by stopping by and sharing your thoughts. If people aren't being civil make sure you call them out on it because they should be following the rules like everyone else and they are enforced pretty well here.
