How long does it take to get your xbox360 back??
Este es no bueno.
Happened to me around Thanksgiving. Mine was so busted that they sent me a new one. Took approx 3 weeks. It wasn't too bad. None of this 10 week stuff that people are talking about around the internet. MS sends you a box w/n a few days, take it to a mailboxes etc or something like that.

I agree. 3 weeks. Happened to me right around Thanksgiving as well.

Took mine about a month, not too bad. The troubles i had with MS Customer service made me get a service plan on the new one from Best Buy. I never really liked them until that happened. Now, as an employee and a customer, it is worth it to get for some products.

This is a touchy subject for me....the first time i sent in my xbox it took about a month....the second time it was about the same time, this is what drove me to insanity.....the sent me a brand new xbox the second time....it died on me after two weeks and i hadn't even played it for 4 days when i turned it on to change the disc and there they were again....you'd figure microsoft would have fixed this problem seeings how it's so rampant.........at least the one I have now works.

Sorry to hear that gallden. I just sent my xbox back to Microsoft, no video coming from my xbox. All I had was sound and of course the warranty ran out.
I was told it would take atleast 3 weeks to get back. Hope it comes back soon. Going through Guitar Hero withdrawl.

Now are you guys having problems with "original" units? Meaning, is this something they've finally fixed with more recent console sales? Or are these incidents from x-boxes bought within the last 6 months or so? I don't have one, but if it's still happening on newly produced 360s, I might think twice before buying one. They need to figure that thing out.

Thanks for the sympathy I sure wasn't getting it from my wife.
I've had mine since launch so its coming up on two years for me.

I mailed mine in two weeks ago today and haven't received it yet. Hoping some time this week considering they SHOULD have had a lower amount of systems being sent in at this point.

Mine was bought around X-Mas of 2007 so it's recent. However, I think I had an odd case because, although I got the three rings of death, if I turned the machine off and on about 10 times, it eventually booted up. Not sure if that is what happens to most people who get them.

It took over a month to get mine back. It also took until the 3rd call for them to ship me out a ****ing box for me to mail it in. Ridiculous!
Good luck, Gallden!

Dude I am sorry for your loss.
I have had to send two boxes in and they sent me a new one each time. It took around two weeks for the first one but it took 28 days for my new system, but mainly because it took them 10 days to get me a coffin to mail it in.
My question for you is did you have to send in your power supply?
The new improved versions (cough) have a different power pack since the wattage is much lower.
P.S. I also bought the warranty at Best Buy. If mine dies, I can replace it the same day.

You won't need to buy a new power supply. If you need a new one it will be included with your new xbox when they send it.
I was just wondering if they asked you to return the old one or not. If they asked you to return it then you knew for sure your gettting the new improved 360. They might just tell you to throw it out if they send you the newer version.

Good to hear Pedro. My xbox came back yesterday but when I turned it on it did an update then got a single red light and the screen said call xbox support. It also had E 75 on the screen. So now I'm waiting for xbox to send me another box in the mail but this time they want me to also include my power supply. So who knows whats going on. Atleast my wife bought me a PS3 early for my birthday.

That happened to me also! Since then, though, it's worked fine.

Hate to bump this thread, but it looks like I'll be expecting a Box in the mail soon to take mine away. Got my original XBOX in November of 06 and that lated me until June/July of 07 when it went up and got sent in. This one they've given me now has worked fine until yesterday. After dinner decided I would play some GTA for a bit, so I powered it up and walked into my kitchen to get something to drink. As I was getting my drink I realized I didn't hear any sound coming from the TV and I knew it wasn't on mute, so I walk into the living room and there it was staring me in the face those darned 3 red lights!!! Tried it a few more times but no luck. So when I get home from work today I'll be calling microsoft:angryfire:

So that was easy enough, I didn't even have to call Microsoft. I got it taken care of on their website. And by the evening I had gotten an email from UPS, saying that I should expect a box in a couple of days.

Sorry to hear about that DuffMan. At least you didn't have to call, that was a pain when I did it. I had to keep telling them my address over and over again since he didn't understand me and I couldn't understand him. I was on the phone over 30 minutes trying to get this done.
I just don't trust my xbox anymore, thats why I bought GTA IV on PS3.

Thanks. Yeah it was nice to be able to just do that on-line. When it happened before and I did it on the phone the guy made me do all these dumb tests first. I guess they've dealt with this problem enough they wanted to make it easier to get a box than having to go through the phone lines.

Am I the only person that got coverage for best buy on their 360? I paid $50 when i first bought it, and each of the THREE times I've got the rings of death, i have just taken it in and had them change it on the spot. Each exchange I give them another $50 to renew the coverage on the box. in and out with a new box within an hour of the rings...

SO that's what an extra 150 bucks just to get a new one immediately? I rather wait a couple of weeks and not pay the extra money. That 50 bucks could go to a new game.
I filled out the info online Tuesday evening and my shipping box is supposed to arrive today hopefully I get home before the UPS guy does. If I do this could help minimize the time I'm without an XBOX

I still have an original 360 from the beginning. No problems so far (knock on wood). Granted, I use it mostly as a DVD player now, but even when I played it more there were no problems. I always put it on top of a milk crate so that it can breathe and not overheat.

Yeah, I do too, I still play mine quite a bit, but it's hanging in there for me :)
I got my younger brother one the same day (launch day) and his just died this week. Sending it back to Xbox this week.

Just a little update. I was looking online and it appears my XBOX has been replaced and is now being shipped back to me. It's looking like I should have it back by the end of the week, if that's true that will be a pretty good turnaround time from when my old one blew up to when I get this one.
EDIT: According to UPS the Delivery Date is scheduled for Friday. That would mean 2 and a half weeks from stating the problem on the XBOX website to getting it back.

Final update, the XBOX did come on in Friday. SO it was about 2 and a half weeks total down time, but I now have a working XBOX, but for some reason I can't connect to XBOX Live so I'm trying to figure that one out.
