I'm sure it isn't because I graduated...but then again, maybe it is my fault?

Where's the most obvious, 'our coach can't recruit to save his own ***' option?

This isn't for serious...

It is recruiting... plain and simple. GW put all his eggs into the Gilchrist and Strawberry classes.
Then he brought in
2004 Gist and Ledbetter
2005 Neal and P Brown
This year there was a huge hole between Gist/Osby/Neal... and everyone else.

He was giving the options that aren't stupid.
I blame John Gilchrist.

Hate on John Gilchrist all we want, the man single-handedly produced one thing that we may not see in Maryland for a long while, an ACC tournament championship.
I'll blame it on James Gist for showing flashes of brilliance, only to disappear when his teams have needed him most.

Joe Smith, Johnny Rhodes, Keith Booth, Steve Francis, Terrence Morris, Juan Dixon, Lonny Baxter and Steve Blake never won ACC championships. I'm not giving an inferior player any credit for a hot weekend.
It was all Mike Grinnon, anyway ;)

I'm pretty sure John Gilchrist is insane. He seriously needs help.
I don't blame Gist. He was never supposed to be "the guy". He is Terrence Morris. Without his Steve Francis, James Gist was unable to be his best.
As for the recruiting problems, I agree, they were bad. But it wasn't a lack of recruiting, it was bad decisions. Gary brought it higher rated players then he ever had. This is usually a good thing. Problem is, these were not players that fit into Gary Williams coaching style. Juan Dixon and Lonny Baxter took them to the promised land. Gilchrist and Ibekwe are two very different people.
Except for D.J. Strawberry, he was a Terp through and through.
