O's are baffled by this hurler.

Our hitters have done squat and Trax got teed off on including a solo jack from Hanley Ramirez...

2-0 Fish so far...

O's score 2 on an error by the Marlins second basemen. He made a great play to get the line drive out from Gibbons, but then tried to double up Payton and it went sailing into the outfield.

Roberts and Payton scored and now Millar hits a home-run, 3-2 O's!

missed roberts and other guy getting on base but i know have a sausage and beer.

gibbons hard liner to 2b is caught. throw to 2nd would not have doubled up runer. throw was wild allowing both runs to score.

Millar CRUSHED a homer to LF.

Ramon swung at a 1st pitch curve for some reason, dribbler to P.

Moore hit it hard up the middle but SS should have made play. he booted it.

jones hit by pitch

Is Jones okay? Where did it hit him?

srock
03-15-2008, 02:16 PM
it takes more then a fastbal in the ribs to bring down jones.

trax walked bases loaded, 3 in a row, then a single scored 2.

Bradford is warming not 30 feet away from me.

srock
03-15-2008, 02:20 PM
trax justed hit the backstop clean. just bit outside!

runners both advance.

fly out to jones who nearly caught runner on 3rd napping. what an arm!

Best part of the broadcast: Manfra announces that Hanley Ramirez came to the Marlins in a trade with the Red Sox that brought over Mike Lowell, and then he pauses and kinda mumbles 'among others... Josh Beckett.'

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:38 PM
O's have two on. Gibbons just struck out for the second out.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:38 PM
Luke Scott now batting with the bases loaded and two down.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:39 PM
Scott bounces one toward the middle, but the 2B ranges to field it for the forceout. Inning over, O's leave 'em loaded.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:43 PM
Chad Bradford comes in to start the 5th.

Trachsel gave up 5 runs in 4 innings. Are we sure we want to hand this guy a rotation spot?

Hermida bounced out to Roberts for the first out.

bradfrd is on his 3rd warmup stint. this is due to the longest soreless half inning in history.

lh walked. robert strikes out. lh makes a nice steal of 2nd. #16 walks. somone is out somehow. millar walks. someone grouds out to 2b.

bradford is in the game.

costanzo is sitting in the pen withcatcher gear on.

OH should sell t shirts saying Oroiles Hangout so we recognize one another.

sorry for my grammer but these posts are made on my moto q sitting on a grassy nole.

#64 is now warming caught by costanzo.

PaulFolk

Mike Jacobs flies out.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:46 PM
Luis Gonzalez, the one old guy on the Marlins, fouls out. 1-2-3 inning for Bradford.

On to the 6th. It's 5-3 Marlins.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:51 PM
Ramon Hernandez leads off the 6th with a single off Matt Lindstrom.

Adam Jones strikes out looking.

Scott Moore, back in the lineup, rips a single to right. The RF mishandles it and Ramon goes to third.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:53 PM
Luis Hernandez knocks an RBI single. The O's close the gap to 5-4.

I would have rather taken a chance on Josh Fogg than Traschel. Don't know how he's doing so far but it can't be worse than Trax. The O's have some serious starter problems and only one projected long reliever.Instead of pitching our other young guys into shape we'll probably be forced to do the BRob tradenow just to get some starter bodys in here. Everybody would be happy to throw Payton in to get Marquis back but then who's you're 4th OF? Robertson or Redman? You're depth is burned up by opening day.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:54 PM
Roberts singles. The pinch-runner (the announcers don't know who it was) slides in safely at the plate just ahead of the throw. Tie ballgame.

#64 has a rick sutciffe esk hitch in hs throwing motion. i notice cuz i pitch the same way. except far less velocity. he is throwing a wicked ovehand curve with a bit of a right to left movement.

moore hard single to right. RF tries backhand it but the ball falls out of his glove allowing runner on 1st to take 3d. RF says explitive.

lh rbi single to right on sharp grounder. RF does not screw it up.

robert rbi single to center. great throw to the plate makes is close. 5-5 top 6

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:57 PM
Luis Hernandez alertly moves to third on a pitch in the dirt. It pays off, because Payton hits into a fielder's choice that plates Hernandez from third.

6-5 Orioles.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 02:58 PM
Omir Santos pinch-hits for Gibbons. In a perfect Gibbons impression, he pops out.

Inning over, O's score 3. They have a 6-5 lead.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:01 PM
Cody Ross leads off the bottom of the 6th with a double.

Our perfect one??? ;)

Jim Johnson is the Orioles' pitcher, BTW.

Interview with Kevin Millar. Saying he wasn't as focused as he should've been at the end of last year. He's talking up the young players like Sarfate and Jones.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:05 PM
Millar praises Trembley for the respect he has shown the players and getting them excited about playing.

Baker strikes out, but Castillo with an RBI single ties the game at 6.

PaulFolk

ill leave play by play to paul.

rbi single to right by fish. payton throws out runner at 3rd.

PaulFolk

Base hit to right for Andino. A run scores, but Payton throws out a runner at third to end the inning.

Marlins re-gain the lead, 7-6. On to the 7th inning.

Tike Redman flies out. Two gone quickly in the 7th. Chris Heintz to pinch-hit for Ramon.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:17 PM

Costanzo is now catching. Is this the first time he's caught in a spring training game?

Interview with Adam Jones:

"It feels comfortable being here. I'm getting used to it, and the players have been great."

Says that he's glad to get a chance to play every day in Baltimore, as opposed to Seattle, where they're under pressure to win immediately and might not give him as much leeway.

Occasionally works on his swing with Tony Gwynn in San Diego. (Not a bad teacher there).

Promises that the one thing he'll consistently do it hustle. "I'll run out every ground ball. Just trying to go out there and give it all I got and hustle."

Has a pet iguana named Fred. (Presumably not named after Manfra.)

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:25 PM
The interview took the whole inning, so I don't know what happened in the game. The Marlins didn't score, so I guess Johnson had a good inning.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:27 PM
Boucher (pinch-hitting for Jones) strikes out, and Salazar bounces out. Here's Blake Davis with two down in the 8th.

Davis flies out. Another 1-2-3 inning.

On to the bottom of the 8th. It's 7-6 Marlins.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:33 PM
Greg Aquino in to pitch the 8th.

Defensive changes for the Orioles. Heintz and Costanzo switch positions after 1 inning (Heintz now catching, Costanzo at first).

OF, from left to right: Redman, Boucher, Roberson
IF, from first to third: Costanzo, Fahey, Davis, Salazar

Marlins' leadoff hitter grounds out to third.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:33 PM
Nice play by Davis up the middle to retire the second batter.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:34 PM
Jason Wood grounds out to SS. Aquino breezed through that inning. I think he only threw 5 pitches or so.

On to the ninth. Last chance for the Orioles. They trail, 7-6.

PaulFolk
03-15-2008, 03:38 PM
Joe Nelson on to close the door for the Fish. Fahey flies out to start the 9th.

davis ranged well past 2b to make the play. next one was routine to davis who fileds it smooth as always.
