Channel 625 for anyone with Directv. Turn down the volume, because side effects of Keith Hernandez include nausea, headache, migrane headache, feelings of vast intellectual superiority, headache, moron lasting 4 hours or more (see your doctor immediately), and severe headache.

I'm way more stoked than I should be about a spring training game. This is the first one I've been able to sit and watch at home all spring.
The Hurricanes are on as well, so I'll be doing a lot of flipping back and forth.

Adam Jones wastes no time, does he?

Adam Jones makes Santana work for the first out, popping the first pitch he sees to third.

Thank goodness he's in the NL now.

Can someone explain to me why Penn, Liz, and Olson are in minor league campe and this guy is still in major league camp?
Yes, I realize this inning isn't all his fault.
McNulty
03-20-2008, 07:28 PM
Man, that whole inning was wierd. Hopefully he can settle down and realize that there were two fluke hits that started that whole mess.

Can someone explain to me why Penn, Liz, and Olson are in minor league campe and this guy is still in major league camp?
Yes, I realize this inning isn't all his fault.
I've said before that its because he has no options, and they have a man-crush on his arm for reasons beyond any of us. Palmer is right though, and even the great profit Keith Hernandez agrees that he has good stuff. He's just unable to get ahead of anyone.

He did. Solid base hit. Then Santana struck out Quiroz with his trademark changeup. Guillermo never had a chance.

Santana still in. Huff with a soft liner to left center to start the 4th.
I guess the book on Santana is to be aggresive. Payton and Huff both swing at the first pitch.

SteveA
03-20-2008, 08:22 PM
If that was a called hit and run play by Trembley then that is a horrible decision. Santana was fighting a bout of wildness so you make a batter swing at what might be a ball, while sending Moore who can't be one of the fastest guys out there?
IHeartMASN
03-20-2008, 08:24 PM
Leicester back in. I guess we're stretching him out for his opening day start.

Actually, if I remember correctly, he's not one of the Molina brothers, thats Gustavo who played for the O's last year, and though hes oddly a catcher named Molina, hes not related to the three brothers...though I could be wrong, but I was pretty sure it was the Mets who picked up our (well formerly ours) Molina

At the very least, he's an honorary Molina brother :)
I watched him take BP in St. Pete last year and he was hitting bombs all over the park. I guess he could just never do that in a game.
