This Stinks.......... no audio no tv and MLB is soooooooo slow!
What is a fan to do?
There is no live media coverage for this game, so all we're going to get is mlb.com and Roch.
The mlb.com boxscore has been stuck on the top of the 2nd for awhile, which is usually a bad sign for O's pitching.
Looks like Loewen got through the 2nd OK.
1 BB, and a Luis Hernandez error.
Looks like the outs were on a groundball and a GIDP.

Luis Hernandez throwing error allows Damion Easley to reach leading off the 2nd.
Two-base error followed by a walk, a pop up, and a double play grounder. Inning over.
O's also turned line drive double play to end the 1st.

Hernandez is having a horrible spring... we have to sign someone else for SS.

Luis has to be pressing at this point. I would imagine these errors don't follow him into the regular season.
I would imagine he is also pressing at the plate too. Even though he is never going to be an offensive juggernaut I would imagine higher numbers offensivly he knows he has the SS job.

3 up & 3 down again for O's in bottom 2nd.
Only Payton got the ball out of the infield.
Roch's account of the error:
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/roch/blog/2008/03/another_cut.html
Meanwhile, Luis Hernandez just fielded a routine bouncer from Damion Easley in the second inning and fired the ball over first baseman Aubrey Huff's head.

LH must be aiming for the O's dugout again. I swear he is not this bad defensively and the only rational explination is that he is aiming for Fahey's head.

Yup. This was his 4th straight K, right?
On the bright side, Loewen appears to be doing okay, certainly much better than his last outing.

Couldn't agree more... this is so ridiculous.
Both of those strikeouts for Loewen in the 4th needed only 3 pitches each. Nasty. Seems like he's starting to figure it out again. Let's see how far they stretch him today..
Meanwhile, can we get a HIT PLEASE THANK YOU

Gameday lists Loewen with only 31 pitches through 4 innings.
Considering 3 walks = at least 12 & 3 K's = at least 9, that's some otherwise efficient pitching.

Markakis singled in the bottom of the 4th, but Roberts caught looking at a third strike & the O's still didn't score.
FYI, pitch counts on Gameday during spring training are incorrect.
It will always record 4 pitches for a walk, 3 pitches for a K, and 1 pitch for a ball in play.

Yeah, 5 innings for Loewen... nice. His last inning featured two ground outs, which is nice. See... I tried to tell people, even Tony was buying into the Loewen-on-the-DL fear and it was a ridiculous idea. At worst, they would have thrown him in the bullpen.

Roch with the actual pitch count:
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/roch/blog/2008/03/sweetnloewen.html
Adam Loewen went five innings today and limited the Mets to one run and two hits. Jim Johnson replaced him to start the sixth.
Loewen walked three. He retired seven of the last eight batters he faced. The only run off him scored in the third on a leadoff walk to Brady Clark and two-out single by Luis Castillo.
Loewen threw 77 pitches, 47 for strikes. Manager Dave Trembley wants to get him up to 90 pitches, and he has one exhibition start remaining before Opening Day.

This makes me wonder how many games this season we're going to lose by one run because our offense just cant get it done...of course that wont matter if our pitching explodes again and just gives up a ton of runs, but early on I hope we win more one run games than we lose
