Top 1

Reyes doubles off the warning track
Castillo bunted Jose over to third
Wright groundout to SS plates a run
Beltran Walks (one on, two out)
Wild pitch brings Beltran to second
Delgado K’s

Bot 1

1-2-3 inning. He threw around 12-13 pitches if that. Induced two grounders and a pop-up that Mora was off-balanced on. Sounded good. I have no idea of the velocity, but he got Roberts, Mora and Markakis out so that’s three nice players to get.

Top 2

Church reaches on an error, Scott dropped the ball on the warning track. Church on second. Tatis flies to right on the first pitch. Schneider steps in takes strike one on the knees, Flies it to shallow right. 2 outs. Brady Clark takes a fastball high, 1-0. Clark fouls off the pitch, 1-1. Pitch inside nearly hits Clark in the head, 2-1. Clark fouls off another one, 2-2. The 2-2 pitch is a high fastball, 3-2. The 3-2 pitch is fouled off. Ball 4, Church steals third base. Runners at the corners 2 out for Reyes. Reyes takes low and in, 1-0. The 1-0 pitch is a fastball at the letters, 1-1. Jose take s a called strike two, 1-2. Reyes gets plunked. Bases loaded for Castillo. Reyes is getting checked out by the trainers, but then goes to first. Castillo takes a fast ball for a strike, 0-1. Fouls one off, 0-2. Check swing appeal, no swing, 2-1, Castillo takes a strike, for strike 3.

Bot 2

Duque gets a quick fly ball to right, 1 out. Aubrey Huff singles. Ramon Hernandez steps in with 1 on 1 out. He takes a breaking ball inside, 1-0. Breaking ball catches the inside corner, 1-1. Fouled off, 1-2. Double play ball 4-6-3 ends the inning.

According to Metsblog, Church launched two bats into the stands, the first of which hit an Orioles fan, the second just avoiding contact. Hope he or she is alright.

I guess he really bought into the Nats-Os rivalry from his time in DC.

Adam Jones gets picked off second as he thought a looper was going to drop into the outfield. But Jose Reyes was able to catch up to it.

The only criticism I have about Jones' game. He needs to work on his baserunning a little. Aggressiveness is good, but he has made some blunders.

But then the O's tie it at 1 on an RBI double by that Brian Roberts guy.

So we've got another outfield error, a baserunning blunder, and Cabrera is throwing wild pitches and plunking a guy on a 1-2 count. Any time the Orioles want to shake off the rust, that'd be great. :p

Somehow Cabrera has managed to squeeze a 3.10 ERA out of a BB/9 around 6.5 and a K/9 just over 7. Anything can happen in 20 IP though.

Maybe this is the way the O's plan on sending off from Sarasota, give their fans a look at them in midseason form...

Listening to Alan Dunn on DCab via the XM feed, DCab is putting a ton of time into pitcher's fielding practice, taking a bunch of comebackers, throwing to 2nd etc...

Millar K's to lead off the bottom of the fourth on a pitch upstairs
Huff files out to Church in RF
Ramon lines out to Wright who makes a GG play to snare the liner

1-1 heading to the fifth

JTrea81
03-28-2008, 02:36 PM
Reyes singles on the first pitch from DCab
Reyes steals 2nd as Ramon bounces the throw into 2nd
Castillo walks
Reyes steals 3rd

A little controversy, Hernandez and Mora claim hitter's interference because Wright was in the way even though Ramon didn't throw. Trembley comes out. They don't get the call.

Wright walks, bases juiced nobody out, Albers warming in the pen

Beltran pops up to Roberts, nobody advances

Scott makes another error dropping another ball hit by Delgado but gets the force out at third, Reyes scores.

Millar fields a grounder flips to Cabrera who misses the bag, but goes back and tags it for the out.

2-1 Mets heading to the bottom of the fifth. Cabrera should have got out of that inning without any damage. A nice job of minimizing the damage.

Cabrera cant live wthout drama. I think he is bored pitching with no one on base. he likes to get himself into a jam and see if he can get out of it. its sooooooooo frustrating

JTrea81

Luke Scott grounds out to Delgado who flips to Hernandez for the out
Jones K's for the second time.
Fahey grounds out to Delgado.

2-1 Mets heading to the 6th...

Roch on now talknig about Albers, says there are rumblings saying the Orioles aren't happy with Albers conditioning. He needs to be in better shape.

Fahey makes a nice play to get the first out.
Fahey makes another play to his left to get the second out

Roch thinks Trembley is leaning toward Hernandez. Roch thinks that Trembley is making the right choice.

Roch says his blog was #4 for site hits in January in the entire Tribune company and #1 in sports. Makes you wonder how much traffic the Hangout got.

Albers K's Clark to end the inning.

Albers has looked like he could drop a few pounds in the ST photos ive seen of him, hes a hefty looking guy.

Roberts walks, Torres in to pinch run.

Roch says that Trembley says Daniel is more composed on the mound and is able to hold it together better when things go wrong behind him.

Mora walks on 4 pitches, Moore in to pinch run.

Roch says he doesn't think Moore will make the team unless Gibbons is released. Trembley alluded to that it might be a possibilty that happens.

Markakis K's for the first out.

Millar hits into the inning ending DP

Albers K's Clark to end the inning.

Conditioning aside, he's had a very nice spring:

13 IP, 11 Ks, 3 BB, 3.46 ERA.

I wish he was stretched out a little more so we could see what he can handle and whether his conditioning would have gotten in the way. Hopefully he works hard and gets a shot in the rotation when Loewen gets hurt, Trax bombs/is traded, or some other unforeseen event happens.

Hernandez in at SS, Torres in at 2B, Payton in RF, Roberson in at CF and Moore at 3B.

Reyes smokes one back to Albers who reaches down and snares it for the out.

Trembley talked about 10 goals they wrote out and they've accomplished all of them and if they get through today healthy, that would be the last one.

Albers walks the next two batters

Delgado lines in into RF, Payton airmails the ball over R. Hernandez's head and the run scores. He had Machado if he made a good throw. Markakis would have nailed him IMO.

Heintz makes a GG play at first to get the final out.

3-1 Mets heading to the bottom of the 7th.

Either the Tribune's websites don't generate a lot of traffic or there are still plenty of die-hard O's fans out there. Either way, congrats to Roch.

And congrats to the OH because I have a feeling a lot of what he's written in his blogs come from info on this site.

Millar hits into the inning ending DPTime time to release Gibbons is after he serves his suspension or immediately, if the suspension is lifted. If the 10 day stay is in effect then Moore will have to go down for that time.

There has been a Fernando Tatis sighting! Thanksfully, not for us.

Today's NY Post has a nice article about Tatis.

With Ruben Gotay being let go, Tatis is a good bet to make the Mets roster. That's especially amazing because he's been in spring training less than 2 weeks because of a problem with his visa.

Hope he makes it & thrives.

Pelfrey still pitching

Huff flies out to Anderson
