These guys make Yuds proud to be British (at least I would imagine so). After liking the 'Black Holes & Revelations' CD for a while, I just got the 'Absolution' CD. I love them! Do you? You probably heard them before without knowing it. They are your typical intro to a hockey game band, but so much more! Check them out. My recommendations are "Hysteria", "Time is Running Out", "Map of the Problematique", and of course the radio friendly "Starlight".

A little too theatrical at times, where as Radiohead is more subdued and subtle.
I like them... Absolution is a great CD. Haven't heard their most recent one, but I can only take them in small doses. I bet the are pretty good live though.

Weird, I was on the same track as you. One of my students showed me the Knights of Cydonia video, which led me to buy Black Holes and Revelations and loving it, and then Mrs. Wedge bought me Absolution for Christmas (amongst other things, of course).
Muse are if Queen, Yes, and Rush biologically merged and had a love child, who then had a love child with Radiohead.

You should all get the new live CD/DVD "Haarp". It's pretty damn good

Unfortunately, Freddie Mercury was biologically predisposed to have an inability to reproduce....;)
Muse is good.
They and Porcupine Tree are the best thing to come out of Britain (musically) in quite some time in my opinion. Their styles are similar.

What? Huh? Did someone mention Queen???
I have the most recent Music record. Like it quite a bit. The guy sounds more like an unhinged Thom Yorke than anything Queen related. Now the singer from Manic Street Preachers? He's got a copy of Sheer Heart Attack at home.
I do enjoy the epic sweep of Muse. We were singing along with Super Massive Black Hole on the way home last night. Good times.
I loved Hysteria when I first heard it on WHFS like four years ago. Downloaded that and Time is Running Out immediately, loved them for a few months, then forgot about them. Picked up the new one at Target one day when I was bored, loved it. Knights of Cydonia has started to bug me (because I play Guitar Hero 3 too much, and for the longest time just couldn't beat it), but I still like much of the album, and Time Is Running Out and Hysteria are back to being semi-regular fixtures in my playlists.
