I guess so, but I know alot of die hard Sox fans who are embarrassed at what "Red Sox Nation" has become also. I missed the first two games in the series because I was out of town, and I have been to plenty of O's Sox games at well, but hearing the loud cheers when the Sox just scored sent nasty chills up my spine. I know even if we begin to win it will change a little bit, but it will never entirely end because of bandwagon nation and just because how hard it is to get a seat at Fenway.

The Red Sox have four hits so far and three of them are complete crap.
Meanwhile, Nick hit a ball that hit the top of the fence and missed being a homer by less than a foot.
And, as I'm typing this, Roberts gives the Red Sox an extra out and extends the inning. WTF... They gave him a hit on that. That is total BS. That wasn't a hit.

I agree, Roberts double clutched because he didn't get a grip on the ball. Should have been an error in my book. At least they got Ellsbury out.

Between the pick-offs and a few ugly things in the field, Roberts play has not been nearly as fundamentally sound this year. That was very bad even before the error. He didn't move toward the ball at all despite the fact that he had to know Lugo was going to bust it down the line. He removed all wiggle room from the play by laying back. I don't know what to think about him at the moment. He just doesn't seem to have the same focus this year to me.

Cedeno is hitting an impressive .321/..398/.449/.847 in 78 at-bats over 34 games. By contrast, Brian Roberts already has 208 plate appearances.
Gallagher is still looking shaky in the majors, with an ERA of 5.68 over 19 innings.

It is pretty darn frustrating. I feel bad for Burres. Anybody who isn't watching the game will think he got whacked, but he didn't.
Through three innings he has given up a hard single to Ellsbury leading off the game, a good double to Manny, a semi-blooper to Youkilis, and six crappy hits. Two of the crappy hits were good pieces of hitting, but the other four were just luck.

Yeah unfortunately there will be a few threads on the main board demanding Burre's head, but that is far from the case at all. Like you said with the exception of a few hits, he has been consistenly getting ground balls and keeping them off balance. However, they are making contact and the hits are falling. It is just one of those days......

Everything I've heard is that Manny is one of the hardest workers in the game.
I did not say he does not work hard, but AROD's work ethic is unmatched from what I have read. Nothing personal against either of them. I guess we just hear about AROD's work ethic more because he is lightning rod figure for most people? I dont know.

And on the main board, people are already commenting that the tailspin is in full motion and that we are one of the worst teams in baseball. Call me crazy, but outside of our offense I just do not see it. We are in almost every game, and while I do not expect us to have a winning record, I do not think we are anywhere near the worst team in baseball.
Why does everyone feel the need to be the first to proclaim that the sky is falling and that we are horrible? Really Annoying.
Remember it is only June 1, at least give the team a chance. This is DT first full year and I honestly think their is a new philosphy in place. Just be patient.

Yes. And I really wouldn't be suprised if we came back and won this one, or lost by one. We don't give up, I always had a feeling the guys weren't in the game after the 6th or 7th last year.

It looks like to me he has been playing with something on his mind. Everything he does it seems like he has to think about it before reacting. This was never the case with him before, at least from my perspective.

Yeah, but people proclaiming Armegeddon is just bull S#$% in my opinion. It is almost like they want to the be first to announce it. Being a fan, I want to win all the games. I know we are rebuildiing, but what good does it do to be so negative? (This is not intended for osfan83, just saying in general) Absolutely nothing. McPhail will do the right thing regardless of how we react or what we say. So why not root these guys on at all costs instead of bashing them and pointing out what they do not do good. This is a fans website, and fans are entitled to their opinion. But unfortunely some of the threads are just rediculously negative and so far out of perspective that it is just laughable.

According to a web biorhythm calculator, he's at rock bottom emotionally and almost there physically.
However, he's at almost-peak intellectually. Maybe he should be taking a test instead of playing ball today...
I just mention it because some people go nuts if you mention biorhythms ;-)

I'm sure you're joking, but why aren't we considering putting him in long relief, moving Albers to the rotation, and keep Liz/Penn in the minors until they are ready? Most of the time the game is out of hand if the long reliever gets into the game and he can remain an "insurance" policy in that scenario.

If Crowley was hitting coach for Boston or NYY we would love him. IMO pitching coaches impact pitchers much more so than hitting coaches impact hitting.
Pitching is more cerebral and thought out. Hitting is more reactionary and it is hard to teach better reactions. The better hitters are better for a reason, and it has very little to do with their hitting coach.
Crowley can not make average hitters great, he just cannot. And I am sure he talks improving their approaches, so dont use that card and blame that on him either.

Trachsel isn't used to pitching in relief (this is only the second time in his career he's done it) and Trembley has said it takes him a long time to warm up. Also, Trachsel hasn't been good at eating up innings this year. Not ideal for a long reliever.
Plus, there have been plenty of times this year in which the game was still close when the long reliever came in. I certainly wouldn't want Trachsel pitching in that situation.

Sorry, but I'm just not buying any of that. Why would the game be close when you put the 7th guy in the pen in the game? It doesn't make any sense. If the game is close, you should be using your best reliever that is available. I can't imagine a scenario where that is the 7th guy out of seven. Albers has been brought into many close games this year, but he isn't the "long guy" regardless of what we call him.
The biggest problem with making Trachsel the long guy who comes in during the 3rd or 4th inning is that it elevates Cormier and Sarfate to pitching in tight situations in the 5th or 6th.
Regarding him taking a long time to warm up, I don't understand why it matters for a long guy. These guys aren't being brought in to face some last second match up.
If Liz is ready, bring him up, no problem. If he isn't, I'm not sure why Albers doesn't go to the rotation, Trachsel to the pen, and see where we are when Loewen and/or Bierd gets healthy. Who cares if our #7 guy out there is less than stellar for the moment if it prevents rushing guys?

Cut Trax..bring up Liz.
Let Quiroz at least split time with Ramon
Bring up Terrero, play Huff at first, sit Millar 3 times a week
Don't be afraid to make some trades to move some older players.

Isn't that what Bigbird has said is happening?
Millar needs time off, I don't think he needs to sit 3 times a week...nor do I think Terrero is some kind of answer. He's never done anything at this level and I'm not that impressed that he's clobbering AAA pitching. What's it like the 6th time there for him?
Do you really think that MacPhail hasn't traded Millar, Hernandez, Huff, Payton, Bradford, Walker, etc because he's afraid?
