Hmm... perhaps there was a scouting report on this pitcher that he gets distracted easily when he picks somebody off so Nick got picked off on purpose to give Melvin and Kevin cookies to hit. :scratchchinhmm:

i really believe once he gets comfortable 'pitching' (as opposed to throwing), his K's will begin to increase again.

I hope your right, but I envision him more along the line of Wang or something who is still effective with only average to low k rates.
I am truly amazed that he has been this effective this season throwing his fastball 90% of the time. Amazing.

What happened to Roberts? Hehe!
Yea Roberts!!!
At least Payton can hit lefties. He has some use.
when he got to 3rd he turned to the ump huffing and said, "I'm getting old". I like Jay this year, he's filling his role very well and with dignity.

Gotta tell you, I am pretty sick of R. Hernandez at this point. Everyone knows his offense has been terrible this year, but even more distrubing is his AWFUL defense. No longer throws anyone out and seemingly cant block anything behind the plate. Not to mention his multiple boneheaded plays on the basepaths. We could be eating that contract this offseason...

As promising as DCab's year has been, he's still the most frustrating pitcher to watch. Horrible fielding, hit batters, wild pitches... fundamental things taht would make him such a better pitcher he could just do what 95% of the rest of the league does easily

The old Daniel Cabrera rears his ugly head: a hit by pitch and a wild pitch in the same inning, leading to 2 runs. Against the Twins it may not matter, but against the AL East he's got to cut this crap out.

Are you guys kidding me? He was set up outside and the pitch was a fastball that bounced right in front of the feet of the hitter. His ONLY chance of stopping that ball was by throwing his glove at it. I have serious problems with Ramon's play this year, but let's bash him when he's actually due for it.

No, Duquette himself was the most expensive signing... because under his watch we got saddled with the Gibbons, Hernandez, Mora, Huff, Payton, Baez, Walker and Bradford contracts, all of which are too expensive and too long and at least two of which will need to be eaten before they're over.

Yeah I haven't, I know it's loud. But I don't recall a broadcast being this poor. Maybe i'm exaggerating.
I'd love to go there before the new stadium opens but I doubt that'll happen.
BTW - I hung out with a lot of Minnesota folks when I went to Mexico in April and everyone of them were really upset about the upcoming outdoor stadium. They basically think all of April should be scheduled away. I can't say I disagree with them, but the 3D renderings look like they've done a great job with the backdrop. Looks like a great stadium.

Well it wouldn't have been an homer cause of the misplay by Young, but how did BRob not score on that play? Should've been pretty easy with his speed I would have thought.

Wow. Horrible defense by the Twins OF. That should be double and error, if not two errors.
No error on Gomez, he just gambled and lost. You can't get an error for a mental mistake or if you're making an "extraordinary effort." He almost made a heck of a play.
Incidentally, since Young is second in the league in triples behind Roberts, I wonder if he was happy to get the error because it kept Roberts from going one more ahead of him?

It sounds like the O's are putting a bit of a web gem show on tonight! I hope I see some of these plays later on ESPN if they remember there are other teams besides the Stankess and RS, LOL :D
If you go to the gameday thing on mlb.com it has video clips of highlights throughout the game. I can't imagine it wouldn't include Mora's play.

Well it wouldn't have been an homer cause of the misplay by Young, but how did BRob not score on that play? Should've been pretty easy with his speed I would have thought.
At least Kakes actually gets a run in for us with less than two outs and a runner on third.
Juan Samuel has been putting up the stop sign a LOT more lately.
Also I still don't think Brian's foot is 100%. He's back to stealing bases and such but he still walks slightly funny.

It's not even that it's always loud, it's just a different sort of noise. It's like being inside of an airplane. Very hard to explain.
