Listening to some Orioles Magic.
Still haven't seen the roster up from Roch.
On an unrelated note: Today is my first day as a plus member.:D
edit: Oh yeah, and hopefully they got their Sunday loss out of the way a day early.

...which would blow away the record for doubles by a switch hitter that he set in 2004.
Oh look, Rickie Weeks is back. I'm rooting for him to get hot now that he's off the DL.
By the way, the countdown is at three. I'm not mentioning for what because I'm not going to be the one responsible for jinxing and causing a pre-milestone slump, but the Sun has mentioned it a couple times in the past few days. ;)

Yup, back to back doubles by Brian and Nick and back to back productive groundouts by Melvin and Kevin to get Nick over to third and then home.
Great first inning. Was that another walk by Jones?
Back to back walks by Payton and Jones. Hopefully that bodes well for this being an unusual Sunday.

Parra is walking a lot of guys who are hard to walk.
Meanwhile, Olson looks almost as awkward trying to bunt as Cabrera did. I thought Trembley went nuts making the P's practice bunting.
Oh look, an irate manager... and two fans taking pictures of him.

Weeks did a stutter step before throwing to first and still got Melvin by several steps. It did look like Melvin was trying to get down the line, but he wasn't running very well. That combined with how he was stretching at his position right before the first pitch has me a little worried about him.

Interesting moment in the Yanks-Reds game: It's gotten so windy in Yankee stadium that Andy Pettite can't even stand on the mound and he's a big guy! It's not raining hard enough to call the game yet though so the game is still going on even though no one can stand still very well. I tentatively have a broom out right now, LOL ;) With Pettite pitching, it's not totally a lost cause to hope for a sweep because the Reds saw him a bunch when he was with Houston. Since they're only down by one run right now (go Cueto for another good start, darn rain is going to cut it short!), it's now a battle of the bullpens and I actually trust the Reds bullpen more than the Stankee bullpen. That's quite a statement, LOL :laughlol: I'm quite satisfied with taking the series from the Stankees but dang would a sweep feel REALLY good! :mwahaha: (Totally random but MADONNA was at the Reds-Stankee game today and when the rain came, they took her through the Reds dugout so she could avoid the crowds in the concourse! I wonder if the Reds players asked for autographs as she went through, LOL)
Double Play Jay has a nice ring to it but if he does that again, bench him. We need some RUNS! :cussing:

It's so nice to see our SS take major-league swings.

Well since we have Olson, Liz, and Burres in the rotation, there's a good chance one of them will get knocked out early in the near future. Bring him in in the 4th/5th inning when we're down a few and see if he can hold down the fort. Not the 6th inning when we only need 3 more innings of pitching (when everyone but Albers got a night off last night).

I guess the bigger question is really why of all the arms we have down there, he was the one that was brought up. Statistically he doesn't look like anything special, but regardless he's here now.
I guess it just might have been nice to see him coming in in a more favorable part of the lineup, if he was going to be up (though I'm not sure where that is in this lineup). Or maybe us up by a run instead of down by a run, anything to make the guy slightly more comfortable.

I think it's questionable if he would've even come out for the 6th in an AL ballpark as much as he struggled in the 5th. It reminded me a lot of the Astros game where he just feel apart. Luckily, today he was able to hold it together enough to get out of the inning.

His pitch count was low, but he struggled in the 5th. It was the same point in the game that he hit a wall in his last outing. Maybe DT didn't think he had much left anyway. I do agree that you are burning a PH in that situation. If they weren't planning on bringing Olson out in the 6th anyway, then it's defendable. But if Olson was sharper, especially in the 5th, than I think it's a bad move with two outs and nobody on.

lol nice, I'm sure someone will ask DT about it in the post game. Hopefully Cormier can get out of it unscathed.
I guess in his defense(DT), though I still don't agree with bringing him in, Bukvich is supposed to be a ML pitcher and 3 outs shouldn't be too much to ask.
That's a good way to put it. You definitely want to put the new guy in a situation for success. But, if he wants to be up here, he needs to be able to get guys out.

At least at the moment (before melmo hits into a DP) it looks like the brewers made the same mistake with Riske.

I'm not happy that both the Reds and Orioles are losing right now. :(
Rivera is into the game for the Stankees now too so unless he has a bigtime off day, the Reds won't get that sweep. I'll take two out of three though! ;) There was a long rain delay for a while and the Reds bullpen couldn't hold it to a one run game. Junior went deep though so he's at 601 HR and the Stankee fan who caught the ball gave it a Reds fan sitting next to him! :)

I gotta say this is one of the first games this season that I have to give the loss to management if they don't make a comeback. The bullpen management has been less than stellar.
No question that the offense left waaay too many people on base in situations where they should have been able to score, but the glaring problem seems to be the matchups.

I'm going to miss the Brewers' announcers. It's like I'm calling the game with all the fawning every time Brian does anything. I can't believe how excited they just got about him making that over the shoulder catch on that pop up.
"Boy, this guy.... can flat out play!" :hearts:
(They didn't rip him for not running out the grounder to the pitcher either.)

Reds lose 4-1 but the tying run was at the plate when the game ended (against Mariano too) so it's not like we gave it to them. Take a series from the Stankees IN Stankee stadium?! I'll take that anytime. Good job Reds! :)

Three. One double and two walks today. Frankly I think Wrigley would be just about the worst place (because I hate the Cubs and their fans), and if their fans know about it they'll probably boo him... or steal the ball or something. I hope all the media attention of going to Wrigley doesn't get him into a funk. He was sweating the whole situation so much earlier this year he had to change his cell phone number to stop some of the phone calls about it.

They're probably going to boo him anyway so why not do something really awesome to get them to boo more?! LOL ;) If I were him, I'd be jazzed up to play really well there just to show them what kind of player he is and to also show what an asset he is to his current team (who cared enough about him to not make a trade that they didn't feel was the best). Unless he goes into a really bad slump, he's going to get three hits somehow in a three game series. We'll all be cheering for him! Maybe we can record our cheering and mail it to Wrigley, LOL :laughlol: :clap3:
