Like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli.

...and I know BRob's short but I didn't expect Ryan Theriot to be taller than him. Is Theriot listed shorter than 5'9" (not that anybody believes Brian is 5'9")?

On the brightside Bukvich was going 5 to 6 innings as a starter last week in Norfolk so he could give us some innings.

Albers apparently felt something awry. It wasn't anything obvious.

blueberryale77
06-25-2008, 08:29 PM
I dont see why we couldnt use Cabrera tonight as a side session or use Liz ahead of schedule.

They'd have to do that at the start of an inning if they were going to since starters are used to warming up longer and not used to entering with men on base. If it were Guthrie due for a side session I'd say it would be a no-brainer to do that at some point, but it's a little more difficult with Liz who is a rookie and has difficulty repeating his delivery or Cabrera who is, well... Cabrera.

Why Not?

Nobody's arguing against the Tejada trade, but we are not talking about merely mediocre or "replacement level" here. Cintron shouldn't start at shortstop on a little league team. He's so bad he seems to be costing us close to a run a game so far if not more and his poor decisions and inability to get the ball out of his glove has the potential to get our one good middle infielder killed. MacPhail should have done something to get a stopgap, but I wouldn't be ranting if we had Brandon Fahey or even Luis Hernandez out there. There's really just no excuse for Alex Cintron being the only shortstop option on you major league roster.

The thing is, MacPhail should have at least been able to pick somebody up on waivers or through a minor trade who had a chance of being at least a 0 out of 10 instead of -5 or below. But I'll try to keep my comments about Cintron to a minimum... unless he does anything else to put Brian in harm's way and then all bets are off! ;)

But of course, i'd be right with you!

Appreciate the consideration. ;)

Why is Jim Palmer so emotionless?

Why is it that car commercials consistently still suck

My previous quote was from Raising Arizona...

"Hmmm... must be a king."

"Why?"

"Hasn't got Sh** all over him."

The Holy Grail!

I used to know all the words to Alice's Restaurant by heart...

Hahaha! It's too bad you live in Alabama, you'd like my parents.

That's the thing I don't understand either. I guess they were overly optimistic based on Hernandez's and Bynum's brief but promising performances last season.

Or maybe they just realized that there was only so much that they could realistically accomplish in a single offseason, and finding a LT solution at shortstop wasn't possible. :noidea:

Bernie Lomax is more exciting than Palmer.

Ummm you can't get upset at a bad player playing like a bad player.

I guess I was overly hopeful after that appearance abt a week or so ago when he was throwing beautiful slow curves (was it against the Pirates?). Have seen very little sign of it since then. :(

Either that or people just think that because we live in a fast food society, we should have just visited the local shop and said "I would like a SS please, hold the k's, extra power and a rocket arm".

I'm sure AM will address this situation in due time, but it's not like there's a "Big Lots" out there on 33rd street with capable short stops just sitting there waiting for the phone to ring.
