Anyone see this fight? It was a great battle imo. However, my two friends and I all thought Rampage won the fight, and couldn't believe that not only did all the judges go with Forrest, they all had him winning by at least 2 points. Rampage easily won rounds 3 and 4 imo, and I think he won round 1, round 5 was close, but maybe Forrest won that one, Forrest easily won round 2. Opinions?

Other thoughts on UFC/MMA?

I bought the PPV last night. Good fight. Forrest Griffin is my favorite fighter, its awesome to see him win the belt.

I thought it would be alot closer too. Maybe they gave Forrest a 10-8 for the second round. He dominated that round. Rampage didn't seem upset about the judges decision, but I did think he was going to get it.

The Cote fight was boring. Hes going to get destroyed by Silva when/if he gets his chance against him.

Tyson Griffin was impressive, Koscheck was impressive, and Joe Stevenson was getting beat the entire fight until he busted out that guillatine (sp?). Impressive knock out for Melvin Guillard too.

I've been meaning to start an MMA thread for a while. The new UFC video game looks like its going to awesome. 80+ fighters.

It was a close fight and I while I do think Jackson won rounds 1 and 4, I thought Forrest definitely won round 2 and round 3 was close. Round 5 was slightly in Jackson's favor but to close to call.

I think they may have given it to Griffin due to the fact that he did much more than just throw punches. Besides some devastating leg kicks, he had Jackson on the ground in round 3 as well and a triangle choke on him.

The amazing thing to me is what Jackson did while in the triangle choke in round 3. I couldn't believe that he basically picked Forrest up and threw him down to the ground all while in the choke hold.

I wanted Jackson to win, but I like both fighters so I wasn't upset to see Griffin given the decision.

Yeah, I think they did give Forrest a 10-8 for round 2, but even with that, it should have ended in a draw. The 10-8 is iffy as well when you consider that Forrest didn't really do any damage to Rampage once he got him on the ground, it was basically a time for Rampage to rest that leg.

Besides the leg kicks, Forrest didn't do any real damage other than by punches, where Rampage clearly outclassed him. Yes, he had Rampage on his back for round 2, but didn't really do any damage from that position. Rampage did more damage to Forrest when Griffin was on his back. And yeah, Forrest went for a triangle, but didn't hurt Rampage with it, and it backfired on him.

I just don't see how Forrest won, I could see a draw though. Almost all of the internet "experts" I've seen either called it a draw or picked Rampage. So the judges scores were stunning imo.

BTW, does James Irvin have any chance against Anderson Silva? Hes had 2 awesome knock outs.

I have no clue how 2 judges gave round 1 to Griffin. Jackson knocked him on his back with a punch and Forrest didn't do anything besides a few leg kicks.

The fight I really want to see is in the WEC. Urijah Faber vs. Miguel Torres. I hope it happens sometime.
