Just had a gander at the standings. The Washington Nationals are even more horrible than I thought they were. Presently, they own the worst record in baseball at 38-68--a whopping thirty games under .500 before the end of July.

What will the Nationals' final win total be? It's not pretty for the inaugural year of the new ballpark.

Wow.

I wonder what the attendance will be like at Nationals Park in September?

And we split with them this year. How pathetic is that?

Not really surprising or that pathetic. As a baseball fan, you should know that anything can happen. Who would have predicted the Os would be 7-4 against the Yanks so far?

I wouldn't call the 2008 Orioles "pathetic" based on splitting six games against any team, including the Nationals. There are many factors that determine whether a particular game is won or lost.

Say hello to the 2015 Las Vegas Double Downs

Probably not, but as a hypothetical how many bad years with very poor attendance do you think the Nats can handle before they are looking for greener pastures?

I wondered if they could go lower than 9,000 households in the TV ratings. Now, we may find out.

If the good people of MLB were so scared of Florida politicians that they put a team in greater Tampa, what is the chance they try to walk away from a lease in the nation's capital?

The Nationals have been awful this year. However, I have been watching them a lot lately, I think I watched their entire West Coast roadtrip.

The positives for them as far as pitching goes are Lannan and Balester. They do have a decent offensive core in Flores, Zimmerman, Milledge, and potentially Dukes.

However, similar to the O's they have a lot of holes to fill, but unlike the O's, they have very few trade chips to acquire young talent.

I mean LoDuca, Kearns, Belliard, and Young aren't gonna bring back too much to help you rebuild your franchise.

Someone this offseason said the Nationals were where the O's wanted to be in a year or two in the rebuilding process.

Man I'm glad that's not the case.

It's probably the other way around :laughlol:
