With the NFL season just around the corner, I am curious to see if there are more Redskins fans or Ravens fans here. I'd also like to see what other teams are represented on the OH as well. If you don't root for either team from the Beltway, explain why.

I am a Dolphins fan...I'll wait while everyone finishes laughing...still waiting...My parents were raised Orioles and Colts fans, but while living in south Florida, they started rooting for the home team. So of course that was instilled into me.

I would think it would definitely be Ravens judging from the activity in the Ravens forum vs. this forum. There's just a lot more Ravens talk in general.
But since you posted the poll in this thread (where most Skins fans post) you are probably going to get more Skins fans responding to the poll.

We've had the debate on here before, but if I was from the DC area I would have totally abandoned the O's and jumped in with the Nats. I look at rooting for sports teams as a civic responsibility. You should root for every team in the city you identify with.

It would be really hard for me to be a Skins/O's fan, even though I know there are a lot of you out there. I certainly don't mind the additional revenue for the O's though!

I grew up a colts/O's fan I lived in town houses about 5 blocks from where the old police station where they eventually shot homicide. We then moved to glen burnie. When the colts left i really didn't have a team till I took a liking to the saints and their defense in 90-95 (I guess it was early prep work for the ravens). That and I played CB and Safety in middle school through high school so i always like defenses that could hurt you.

Skins I have never liked them. always called the people who rooted for the skins that lived in Baltimore traitors heh...

Agreed. There were one or two years in my early childhood where I vaguely remember following the Redskins, but then the Ravens moved here when I was 7, and they were my team. Even before the Ravens came here, I could never fully root for the Redskins... my family all grew up Colts fans and I was brainwashed at an early age. For example, even though I wasn't born at the time, the sight of Mayflower trucks makes me nauseated and/or angry.

I root for the only team to ever play in 4 straight SuperBowls (and if Norwood had made that darn kick...)

I am a Ravens fan.

I grew up a Skins fan, until the Ravens/Browns moved here from Cleveland, and the Skins remain a very close second.

I never really followed football (mainly because Baltimore didnt have a football team worth watching).

When the Ravens moved, I paid little attention. During the 1999 season I got a little more interested and watched them as they marched against the Giants to win the SuperBowl.

I still try and watch Ravens games here and there and I root for them non-stop but I have never really followed them hardcore.

This season, I will be following Joe Flacco (I am a senior at Delaware) every game, so I will probably learn a lot about all the players.

I'm an Eagles fan.

Having lived in lower Delaware all my life, we always got the Eagles games on Fox and the O's games on HTS. The Phillies games never came on tv and there was no Baltimore football team, so that's why I like who I do.

That's why I threw the Eagles and Steelers up there. For the Steelers, I guessed there were some O's fans in western Maryland and West Virginia who rooted for Pittsburgh.

Patriots fan here.

We need to stick together. That is, if you've been a fan since before 2004 (2002 is okay because they weren't the juggernaut they've become since).

Patriots fan. I've lived in RI all my life, so the Orioles are actually my odd team out.
