I was just referring to the radio...they were making it sound like both plays at the plate were more Ramon's fault. :noidea:

Both. The error goes to the thrower unless it's right on the money and clearly gets dropped, but Hernandez had a chance to prevent that error if he played it perfectly.

It was a clean hop, it was the second hop, but clean nonetheless. He had plenty of time to catch it and then apply the tag, didn't even need to be a "catch and tag" all in one motion.

Poor throw by Montanez, but it was still good enough to get the job done if Ramon does his.

That was ridiculous that Montanez got an error on that. It wasn't the best throw in the world but it wasn't the worst either. It was at least on target...the catcher has to keep that in front of him.

Even if it was a clean bounce that should've been fielded.

I'm going to go ahead and ask it in the baseball thread: is Coach K really the guy we want leading the US Basketball team? He's great and all, but I don't know if his style of play (not including a big man - ever) is good for international ball. Do we lose at all in 2008??

I think he's the perfect guy to lead the U.S. team. The apparent dedication to this team as compared to previous years is night and day. I hate Duke, but Coach K is probably the best guy to coach these guys.

Not to derail the thread, but...

I hate Kryzyzsyxzyzski, but I agree. There is a different feeling about this team then there has been in a while. I wish there were another perimeter shooter though.

Good point. I just hope that the players respond to him and have the same respect for him that as his players at Duke. But you're right... dedication has been lacking for Team USA lately.

Olson seems like the most insecure pitcher. It's like he's waiting for something bad to happen when he's out there. Then, once it does or he realizes he's going to pitch good his confidence comes back.

WTF was Samuel doing? He's just flat out incompetent as a 3B coach, the Indians weren't even going to contest Scott's run. The only possible excuse for not sending him home is if he can't run because of his achilles tendon and if that's the case why the heck didn't Cintron run for him since he's going to have to come in and play SS anyway?
