After reading the Bridge to Terabithia thread, I was curious to see which movies have tugged at our manly heart strings and reduced us to sniveling in front of our friends/significant others?
For me, it all started with Old Yeller, I remember demanding that my dad never let our dog out of his sight, ever.

As in most manly things, I am of no use. Long distance ads and McDonalds commercials make me tear up.

When Bubba dies in Forrest Gump. :(:(:(
When the soldier is lying on the Normandy beach holding his intestines and screaming for his "momma" at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan. :(:(:(
When Sirius Black was pulled "through the veil" in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. :(:(:(

My weakest movie moments:
When I was a little kid, Bambi. Also this movie , which has a name that eludes me, where a ghetto kid befriends a kitten and the kitten gets run over.
More recently:
When Nick (Christopher Walken) "loses" in The Deer Hunter.
When Ed Nortons' character discovers his little bro in the bathroom in American History X.
When Giovanni Ribisi's medic character dies in Saving Private Ryan.
I'm probably forgetting something. Probably from a less violent movie too.

The two that come to my mind right away are Old Yeller and The Fox and the Hound.

My friends and I call this "A manly cry movie".
Backdraft is one. Good Will Hunting is another. Rudy gets to me, but I'm super lame like that.
I would advise highly against watching 'Life as a House'. My wife warned me ahead of time and I still cried.
And if someone rights The Perfect Storm in here, we are no longer friends. I have my reasons.

Damn, I forgot about Rudy, that got me good too!

Not a movie, but the ASPCA commercial with that Sarah Maclachlan song, Angel. I have to change the channel every time it comes on. :002_scry:

I usually get choked up during:
When Bubba dies in Forrest Gump and when Jenny dies and Forrest talks to her at her grave.
Towards the end of Ladder 49
When Rudy finally gets to play at the end of Rudy
The end of Titanic
Remember the Titans when Gerry gets paralyzed in the car accident and Julius (aka Wood Harris, aka Avon Barksdale) breaks down talking to Gerry's mom and then Gerry.
October Sky because the movie is just so uplifting...I get choked up when they launch their first successful rocket, when they win the scholarships, when Homer's dad finally comes to see him launch the rocket and he lets him detonate it.
Field of Dreams when Ray's dad comes at the end and they have a catch, when young Moonlight Graham saves Ray's daughter even though he can no longer go back to playing on the field of dreams.
Good Will Hunting has a couple of good scenes...
The Green Mile when they have to execute John Coffey
Cinderella Man, quite a few times
At the end of Rocky after he's gone the distance and all he really cares about is finding Adrian...so uplifting and great music.
It's A Wonderful Life...when at the end George comes back to present day and sees all of his friends who have helped pitch in money to save George. Clarence the angel gets his wings for helping George and I always loved the line "Remember George: No man is a failure, who has friends".
Jerry Maguire...when Jerry comes back for Dorothy and when Rod gets his big deal and breaks down thanking everyone on our very own Roy Firestone's Up Close.
that's all I can think of right now...

I think I cried during My Dog Skip. I guess that's similar to Old Yeller. I was like 13 or 14 though.

25th Hour; First he makes his best friend beat the snot out of him. Then he goes with his dad to jail, and his dad explains that they can just drive all the way across the country, and he can never come back. He can't write or talk to anyone from back home ever again. They have one final drink, and his dad leaves.
