My wonderful place of employment is sending everyone to the movies. My day to go is next Wednesday. I am going to see Tropic Thunder, Traitor, or Bangkok Dangerous. Which one should I see?

Considering that Bangkok Dangerous is getting a 10% score at Rotten Tomatoes and Traitor is only getting a 53% score, I would see Tropic Thunder, which is at 84%.

Plus Nic Cage doesn't make good movies anymore. What was the last good movie he was in?

Tropic Thunder definitely. But if not that, Traitor. If both of those are sold out, Bangkok Dangerous. :)

I liked National Treasure. Never saw the sequel. Lord of War was somewhat decent, too.

For me I would say his two movies from 2005.

"The Weather Man" and "Lord of War" both very good and I would suggest checking those out if you havn't. Especially Lord of War.

I did like Lord of War. But he's mostly been in a bunch of crap lately.

Thank you all for your responses. I have decided to see Traitor, but mainly because it is over 25 minutes before TT and I get to go straight home.

Mistake. Tropic Thunder is one of the funniest movies of the year, if not the funniest, while Traitor is entirely mediocre. It has absolutely nothing on Sleeper Cell, a Showtime series that it looks like it was trying to copy but failed miserably. It starts out relatively uncliched but as it moves towards the end it becomes incredibly predictable and cliched. Traitor is simply average and a poor role choice for Don Cheadle; Tropic Thunder is absolutely hilarious.

My suggestion: see TT, and buy the two seasons of Sleeper Cell on Amazon for like $25-30. Get 18 hours total of incredible, jaw-dropping TV that's different from anything you've ever seen before. That was a GREAT series on terrorism, the movie is dumbed-down beyond belief.

While I love Don Cheadle, he is just not an action star...bad match there. However, I did LOVE sleeper cell, and I'm afraid I will compare any movie or show to that as well and just not like it. Thanks for helping to talk my curiosity out of line to see it though :)

I mean, Cheadle certainly isn't bad...he's a strong-point in this movie, but this really wasn't an action movie at all. The comparison to the Bourne movies was absurd. It's just, like I said, a far dumbed-down, more cliched version of Sleeper Cell minus the character development, and Cheadle doesn't have much to work with--there's hardly even any real action scenes for his character had he wanted to be an "action" star. Just not the right choice for him.

So glad to see someone else has heard of Sleeper Cell! Not surprising that someone who watched it loved it, because everybody does, but it's gotta be the most unknown show that I think is one of the 3 best original series of all time. I realized after I saw the movie that I had seen a post on a Sleeper Cell forum saying this movie could be a lot like that and I had been excited about it, so I went into the movie with no expectations to be like Sleeper Cell. When I realized it was almost the same concept though, it fell short just because it isn't a particularly clever movie, I could predict what was going to happen well in advance, and the ending was poor, IMO.

So I kept you away from seeing it, is that what you're saying? If so, great; hope I did the OP as well because TT is just hilarious. Traitor warrants a DVD viewing at most.

Seriously though people, GET SLEEPER CELL. IT'S AMAZING.
