The game starts in about a half hour as I'm sitting in class wishing my MLB.TV worked while I was on campus, but for some reason it has everyone game blackedout. I'll be following along on gameday. I'm sure not everyone will be interested in another game tonight, but I just can't stop watching no matter how poorly they are doing. Go O's

Get a slingbox; I would go insane without mine. I have used it in classes a few times for O's and Terps games.

Garrett Olson - P

For the Indians:

Yes, I've looked into a slingbox, I just don't know if on campus or in my apartment the internet can handle getting cable and then being online at the same time. Does yours ever not work or go in and out at all?

I don't see why cable would be an issue, although I don't even have a TV and use a second monitor and a slingbox as a primary TV. The only time I have problems is when the internet has problems, which is rare where I am.

If you were thinking about watching the Packers-Vikings game and taking a shot every time Brett Favre's name is mentioned, you should probably seek medical attention... Let's see the birds break this losing streak at long last!

Injury delay right on gameday, who got injured?

Must've been the GameDay operator, because it wasn't anyone on the field. :D

I'm here, hoping we don't get our butts handed to us.

Good first inning by Olson except for the ground rule double. He did well not letting him score.

Bottom of the 1st is a different story, we only made Carmona throw 7 pitches, gah

That's something you don't see very offen. A Oriole pitcher walking a batter.:cussing:

Man I wish we had Shin-Soo Choo. He would have been a great buy-low target. He's been tearing the cover off the ball the last few weeks.

baseballnelie
09-08-2008, 07:31 PM
That's already 3 doubles this game given up by Olson. He also seems to be throwing a lot more balls this inning than he did last inning

Good to have Huff back in the lineup, singling in his first AB

MurphDogg
09-08-2008, 07:38 PM
Professional hitting by Ramon there...

baseballnelie
09-08-2008, 07:47 PM
And the game restarts in the 3rd inning...

baseballnelie

Runner on 2nd with only 1 out, and our two best hitters coming up and we could not get him.

We just can't leave runners like that stranded with our pitching

baseballnelie
09-08-2008, 08:13 PM
So I saw runs scored and then see "Gutierrez flies into a sacrifice double play" good way to end the inning haha

Good 8 pitch at bat by Millar to draw the walk there

You don't often see the catcher move the glove that much and still get the call.

Scott has become a candidate to hit the warehouse, definitely.

I'm actually surprised that no ones hit the warehouse yet. 16 years and no ones hit it...I realize it's not a chip shot or anything but its definitely not out of reach, either. I would have thought that 2-3 shots would have hit the warehouse by now.

IMO, Griffey doesn't count....yeah, he hit it, but it was during the HR derby. Impressive, no doubt...but I think we can all agree theres something different about hitting it during a real game and the HR derby.

Progress for Olson:
Not an overall pretty outing, but he kept the O's in the game, which is a rarity lately.
Prolly done for the day: 6 IP 8H 3ER 3BB 6K's
Im happy with that effort.

Montanez made to look stupid by Carmona. Swung at two balls and then watched an absolute meatball right down the middle.

Horrible at bat.

It'd certainly make Mark Teixeria signing with the [Yankees, Angels, Mets, ???] instead of the O's less painful.

It is hard to believe that other teams wouldn't offer good prospects for this guy...
Just look at the numbers up to today compared to a very popular player on this board:

Huff: .315 31 102
Tex: .304 29 109

If Huff produces like this, i am perfectly content with keeping him around next season if the right deal doesn't develop.
