I'm kind of glad there wasn't a thread here already, as I'm sick of hearing about it (so I guess my post is ironic).
What's the big deal about this? It doesn't sound like a fun game at all to me...

I don't have it, but it does sound really cool.
Basically like a version of The Sims or Sim City where you have absolutely complete control over a character.
I played it last night. Its actually really cool. Constant evolution. I didn't want to stop playing.

From what I gather, you start out as the most basic form of life, then evolve into more intelligent life. Sounds awesome to me!

I like it thus far. It's engaging without being too complicated, and addicting without being too addicting that you can't hit save and quit.
Its interesting to weigh the appearance versus the skills. (I'm still only in creature mode. I only get to play on my cousin's game.) I definitely like what I've played so far, but it looks like it gets alot different later on.

Well, I got to the creature stage last night, but I'm thinking of junking that and starting fresh now that I got a better handle on things. I tried to make my creature a bit too balanced from the word go, and I see now that you can almost completely change their evolution if you wish each time you "mate." My creature wasn't charming enough to really get good allies, and it wasn't strong enough to take out the competition, especially the natural enemies. I might try a more strategic approach, tailoring the current incarnation to have the most impact.

Does this game require some fancy top of the line PC just to play? I've played a few computer games in the past, but not many because I would never know if my computer was good enough to run the game.

My lappy is 2 years and one month old and runs it okay.
