1. Cowboys(1) 2-0: Defense wasn't nearly as bad as the score suggested against the high octane offense of the Eagles. Felix Jones looks like a difference maker.

2. Steelers(2) 2-0: Not nearly as impressive against the Browns as the Cowboys were, but weather was a factor, huge in state battle on Sunday.

3. Eagles(3) 1-1: Yes they lost, but it's hard to knock them for losing a close game at Dallas, especially when Donovan looks like his old self, they were playing without their #1 WR, and looks like they've found a new receiving weapon, stupid play notwithstanding.

4. Packers(4) 2-0: Despite the final score against the Lions, they were losing that game with 6 minutes left, Ryan Grant needs to get healthy and back to his 2007 form, hosting the Cowboys this week will tell a lot about where this team really stands post Favre.

5. Colts(6) 1-1: Rallied to win at Minnesota, big game by Gonzalez who may need to step up consistently since Harrison is likely done as an elite receiver. I expect the offense to continue to click soon.

6. Giants(10) 2-0: Still don't think Eli is an above average QB, but he has a lot of talent around him on offense, and the D has been better than I expected given their losses.

7. Patriots(12) 2-0: Cassel was very solid in his first start since high school, Lamont Jordan provided a surprising boost, and the D was quite good.

8. Panthers(14) 2-0: Another good win, looks like they have a running game again with Stewart averaging 5.4 yards a carry. Smith returns this Sunday, so that should be a huge plus for the passing attack.

9. Chargers(5) 0-2: You're thinking too high for a win-less team right? Well they were robbed in Denver, so that should have been a win, and their other loss was a due to a last second TD. I'd pick them to beat any team below this on a neutral field.

10. Broncos(13) 2-0: Cutler looks like he's making the leap to stardom, and Marshall is a stud. Still got lucky to win that Chargers game though.

11. Titans(11) 2-0: They might actually be better with Collins starting, Chris Johnson has had a tremendous start to his career, averaging almost 6 yards a carry and over 100 yards a game so far.

12. Bills(17) 2-0: Their defense was ranked 30th last year, it looks much improved this year, as does Trent Edwards who has a 107.7 QB Rating.

13. Cardinals(19) 2-0: With Warner at the helm, this team should win the pitiful NFC West.

14. Saints(7) 1-1: Colston's injury really hurts, as does their poor running game. Secondary got torched by the Skins new passing attack, which looked awful the week before.

15. Vikings(8) 0-2: QB play continues to hold them back, now they put their trust into Gus, not sure that will work out any better. They have had a tough schedule to be fair, still should be a solid team at the very least due to their D and ADP.

16. Bears(15) 1-1: Almost pulled out the W at Carolina, probably would have if their TE didn't lose two fumbles. Hester's injury is a big concern though, that guy is extremely valuable to them due to their limited offense.

17. Bucs(19) 1-1: Shut down the Falcons running game which is impressive. Still baffled by the QB switch, don't think it will help them at all.

18. Redskins(23) 1-1: Huge win for Zorn and Campbell. Other than special teams, that was an impressive performance by the Skins.

19. Jaguars(9) 0-2: Injuries to their offensive line are really hurting them, as is Garrard suddenly being prone to INT's.

20. Jets(16) 1-1: The Favre era had a big hiccup last week with their loss to the Brady-less Pats. Only 10 points for an offense that is supposed to be greatly improved. I figured it would take awhile for Brett to get adjusted, so patience is needed here.

21. Ravens(21) 1-0: It's important that they beat the Browns considering they have the two best divisions on their schedule this year, along with two games against the very good Steelers this year.

22. Browns(20) 0-2: Their offense has looked nothing like last years addition, but to be fair, they have played my number 1 and 2 teams so far.

23. Texans(24) 0-1: Will be interesting to see how they react after the hurricane. I still think this team is much better than they showed against the Steelers.

24. 49ers(29) 1-1: Sullivan looked good against the Seahawks, but due to their opponents injuries, I can't move them up too much based on that win.

25. Seahawks(22) 0-2: The aforementioned injury issues are killing this team, I think their run of NFC West titles is over.

26. Raiders(31) 1-1: The organization is a complete mess, but at least McFadden looks like a potential beast.

27. Falcons(25) 1-1: Offense was basically the complete opposite of the Lions game, will be interesting to see which is closer to reality.

28. Lions(28) 0-2: Actually were close to beating the Packers when all hell broke loose.

29. Chiefs(26) 0-2: Larry Johnson has been awful, average less than 3 yards per carry.

30. Dolphins(30) 0-2: Their running game was supposed to be a strength, but they're only averaging 3 yards per rush.

31. Bengals(27) 0-2: It's amazing how fall this franchise has fallen after making the playoffs a few years ago.

32. Rams(32) 0-2: They've scored 16 points and given up 79!

5. Colts(6) 1-1: Rallied to win at Minnesota, big game by Gonzalez who may need to step up consistently since Harrison is likely done as an elite receiver. I expect the offense to continue to click soon.

As much as it pains me to say it, at this point this ranking may be too high.
Injuries are killing this team, again. Ugoh out leaving 4 backups (3 rookies) on the OL trying to protect the franchise. Mudd is back, so at least he'll be able to get them to step up somewhat. And now the Eraser is out for 6 weeks. AG isn't just going to step up consistently, he is making the leap into being an elite receiver.

I also think you have the Titans too low, but the jury is still out on them.

Only big slight I see is having Carolina below Indy. Carolina beat San Diego on the road and Chicago while Indy loses to Chicago at home and barely beat Minnesota.

Other than that it's arguing apples and oranges. My personal top 10 looks like this:

1. Dallas
2. Pittsburgh
3.Carolina
4. Philly
5. Broncos
6. Giants
7. Green Bay
8. Pats
9. Colts
10.Tenn

Hmmm, looks to me like the Saints and Bucs are much closer now. ;)

Also glad to see Jax fell like a rock, I really think they are in for a long season. Same w/ Seattle.

Somehow I don't have any real problems w/ the rankings, we agree basically everywhere.

Some random thoughts:

-(there have been plenty of pick 6s, but) The Detroit Lions have allowed 341 points in their past 10 games. 341. Or over 34 PPG. Having said that, the four teams below are all atrocious, so I really can't quibble w/ your ranking.

-According to your rankings (and my opinion), the NFC has passed the AFC. At the very least, they are even. Anyone disagree? And sort of on that note, can anyone argue that the NFC East isn't the best division in football?

-Larry Johnson inexplicably looks done; fits in well with the entire Chiefs team. Beaten convincingly at home by Oakland? Doesn't get much worse than that.

-Where did the Chargers defense go?

-I definitely like the Titans w/ Collins starting. Their D-line is ridiculous, running game is good (Johnson, not so much White). Look like the Colts main competition for the division.

-I don't think we've learned a lot of anything about Arizona or Cleveland (for opposite scheduling reasons)

-Where would the Jets be if the Fins found the endzone on that final drive in week 1?

Dallas solidifies their #1 ranking this week but will have a tough game vs. the
Skins next week, those games are always unpredictable.

Philly's D single handedly beat PIT. They destroyed their O-line all game. Maybe #2 team in the league (Westbrook injury would hurt though).

Giants escape an upset and come out undefeated. They could be #3 team in the league.

The NFC East is looking brutal. Last place may be 9-7.

The AFC's reign of dominance is over without Brady, the Colts struggling every game and SD/Norv underachieving (big surprise).

Bills, Titans, and Broncos are surprise players at the party this year at 3-0.

The NFC is like the early 90's (NFC East dominance).

The AFC is like the early 2000's (Den, Ten, Bal, Bills)
