Has there ever before been a week when so many ranked teams (especially Top 10 teams) lost to unranked teams?

#1 USC loses to Oregon St
#4 Florida loses to Ole Miss
#9 Wisconsin loses to Michigan
#16 Wake Forest loses to Navy
#20 Clemson loses to Maryland
#23 East Carolina loses to Houston

That's 6, and the day isn't over yet. And Auburn was pretty close to being #7.

Bloody Weekend for top ranked teams... (http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53725)

I don't remember how many of the losses were to unranked teams but one year ago (almost to the day) it was blood bath for ranked teams. 7 of the top 13 crashed and burned.

Good point....made me decide to do a little research. Turns out, that weekend 7 ranked teams lost to unranked teams.

#3 Oklahoma loses to Colorado
#4 Florida loses to Auburn
#7 Texas loses to Kansas St.
#10 Rutgers loses to Maryland
#13 Clemson loses to GA Tech
#21 Penn St loses to Illinois
#22 Alabama loses to Florida St.

We'll see what happens. There are three more games that feature unranked teams playing ranked teams today. Based on the scores as I type this, South Fla looks safe against NC St (up 21-3), LSU has a close lead over Miss St (10-3) and Utah is playing at home against 1-AA Weber St.

Either way, this season could easily be a repeat of last year in which there really was not a dominant team. More fuel for the fire that will hopefully burn the BCS to ashes. :clap3:
