Orioles Hangout will remain by itself including this community. We will encourage people to become part of our large localsportshangoutcommunity but will not incorporate this community into the other one.
However, if you want The Wedge for BaltimoreSportsHangout you'll need to act fast when we open up the board because you know that's going fast. :D

There are some pretty entrenched fan boards out there such as Sons of Sam Horn. Are they going to link to this new endeavor? Will OH be streamlined a little and for example, will Ravens and NFL talk move to the new board?
Obviously, we all wish for success for the new boards.

Some great questions, thanks. We are creating an Orioles Hangout-like message board that will be moderated the way we moderate here. It will not be a wild-wild west site like most boards where anything goes. The one thing I've learned over the years while building this community is if you provide a place where people have to be civil (most of the time :D ), people will flocked to it.
We're hoping that fans in other portions of the country will enjoy this kind of message board experience.
We may streamline some boards like Ravens and Terps, but we are definitely going to keep all of our Orioles related boards and community boards. The last thing I want to do is disrupt this great community so hopefully this will be seamless as people want it to be. If they want to become part of that community, great. If they choose to be stay here, great. If they want to be part of both, even better.
Orioles Hangout will always be my baby and I won't let anything happen to make it go away or suffer.

Wow. That's very ambitious, and if anyone can pull it off it's Tony. I'd gotten a few hints and tidbits of some expansion plans over the years, but this is truly a big leap. I wish you luck.

It may be too late, but might I suggest rolling out this idea early on to cities that are not well served by message board communities already? Boston, for instance, has at least three or four really large Red Sox boards, so I wouldn't try to take on that market. That said, I wouldn't bet against Tony even if he did try to take it to the big boys.

Will there be a separate charge for the Local Sports Network message boards? Or is that something you don't want to touch on just yet?
Also, as much as I enjoy talking about sports, I also enjoy the video game, film, television, and music boards on OH as well. Will there be a place for these topics on the Local Sports Network boards as well?

Good questions Lex. We do have plans to make the localsportshangout boards pay boards, but if you have a plus membership here we will give you a free membership over there.
WE will have community boards over there but the OH community board will remain here as well...

Would something like the Thread Tag system be implemented across all the boards and linked to one another? As in, if someone on another baseball board in the network tagged a thread with oh, I don't know... "Teixeira" for example, would you get linked to other teams' fans' discussions? That would be pretty neat.
