I'm not sure if I'll be done with Fable by Friday, but that won't stop me from picking up this game.

Got it this morning, on Act 4, chapter 3 now, wanna beat campaign so I can dive into some multiplayer tonight :)

Awesome single player so far though, better than the first.

It's all pretty good. The campaign is great, love the little changes. The multiplayer, not so much. They changed a LOT. Shotguns don't work like they used to, everyone chainsaws and thats about it, the matchmaking is a great idea and all, but unless you have 5 people it takes about 20 min to get into a match, and when you do you can't pick what gametype you play, you get to choose from a playlist that have 3-5 options.

The best thing about it has to be the new wingman multiplayer. 2v2v2v2v2, makes you use teamwork and play smart. The idiots that just run out and gun whatever moves have no shot. Aka, no more getting killed by a 13 year old with a potty mouth.

I think the multiplayer is a lot better as well. The new game modes give the game some much needed variety and the tweaks/changes to the gameplay itself make the game feel more refined. Chainsaw battles make that dynamic more interesting, the speed of the game seems better. I haven't had a problem with too much chainsawing though... if somebody tries I usually just shotgun them once, roll and shotgun them again and they are down.

I've had the usual problems where you shoot someone trying to chainsaw and they walk right through and get you, or it takes 4 and 5 shotgun shots to down someone (and no I'm not missing, I'm getting the blood and damage points) :)

Heh, I think that was a problem with the first game at times as well though. The hit detection is just weird in the games at times.

Needless to say, if you see a chainsaw and you dont have your lancer out... run or roll and you should have no problem avoiding it

The game is wicked sweet! I'm almost through with the campaign, and I've been having a blast. I've only played a little bit of multiplayer so far, but I am looking forward to getting into it more. Wingman sounds cool and I definitely want to hit up horde. I'm glad they've tweaked the shotguns a bit, b/c in multi in the first gears most matches just turned into a shotgun fight. The chainsaw duels sound cool, but I don't expect them to last. If you got the first gears when it first came out everyone chainsawed the first couple of weeks in that as well, but then after that not so much.

I beat Horde Sat night, there are a couple rounds here and there where there are like 6 or 7 guys, but mostly there is like 30 per round and they get CRAZY when you get over 20.

What map did you beat it on ? Blood drive ? I've heard it's the easiest to beat horde on. The other night a bunch of friends and I tried it on avalanche and got to level 21 or 22 and were going strong until 2 of them had to leave and we just got overtaken by like 4 or 5 grinders.

I beat it on Canals, Avalanche and Security. I didn't like it much on Avalanche, but Security was pretty nice, tons of weapon spawns to get to.

Nice. I haven't tried Security or Canals yet. Avalanche was pretty easy when we figured out how to play it. We all just went up on the one balcony and two people covered each set of stairs and one sat in the middle with the mini-gun taking out the people in the middle. It was simple untill around level 14 or 15, they started spawning alot more of the bigger guys and we started running out of ammo before the round was over.

This is definitely my favorite mode right now, it reminds me alot of the old defend mode in GRAW 2.

Yeah, that is the same plan we used, but I got sick of running out of ammo so I was trying to find a level where we could actually get to some ammo. I liked Canals cause you hole up in one of the upper corners and you have the sniper right there (I'm pretty good with it) and an ammo box under the bridge. The tricky part is getting to the 'nades before they start spawning each round. Security was the easiest, just stay inside the lasers and spray out minigun or mortars as much as possible and keep picking each other up. Then when you get down to 3 or 4 guys left you run out and refill ammo.

I like wingman a lot too, but this one is really fun. I was sick of it after 6 hours the other night, but i could really play it again now.

I was wondering the same thing. Fable 2 is pretty good, I still haven't even finished it and now I've started Fallout 3. Add in to the fact that I haven't had much time for gaming lately and I've got enough to keep me busy for a while. I still play some Gears 2 online from time to time. Mostly Horde, but me and a buddy are working on Insane Co-op as well.
