I was thinking about some of my favorite games the other day, and which ones I would get excited about a remake of. I think I'd probably be the most excited about a remake of TIE Fighter. It's not just the Star Wars nerd in me talking, either. That game was a blast to play.

I think a Golden Eye remake would be pretty awesome. The game that changed the way shooters were made, remade.

Kid Icarus, Star Fox, Friday the 13th (yes the one where 2 of the counselors could jump 40 feet in the air and run like the roadrunner), Dragon Warrior, River City Ransom.
That would be a fun list to start with :)
Final Fantasy 7 on PS3. Then I would buy one.
Smash TV

Since Pirates was an all-time favorite for me, I'd love to see them make a deeper Pirates game. If they could add in more real interaction with other characters or even better, take it online so we could play against others.

I concur with Dragon Warrior, but I would also add Maniac Mansion.

Even though this is an opinion question this is the right answer. :clap3::clap3:

Pirates of the Burning Sea seems to be a very Sid Maiers Pirates! based MMORPG. You could look in to that.

I concur with Dragon Warrior, but I would also add Maniac Mansion.
I would vote for pretty much all the "classic" Lucasfilm Games/Lucasarts point and clickers. Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, The Dig, Sam and Max Hit the Road (the ones on GameTap are close but not quite material), etc.

Not to threadjack, but I got an awesome idea for a new game just the other day.
Lego Metal Gear Solid :D

Baseball Stars, Bad News Bears Baseball, Dusty Diamonds All Star Softball, and Baseball Simulator as far as baseball type games go.
I'd love to see what the PS3 can do with Colony Wars, Iron Storm, Dragon Force, Crystalis, and The Battle of Olympus. The last two especially.
Now I want to go on EBay and look for half of these games!

Excellent call on the last 2, I still have both of them :)
How about we add in Deadly Towers, and Faxanadu.

Not a bad idea, but they have their hands full finishing Lego Halo first :) No...for real...it should be out in the spring.

Twisted Metal from Playstation.

Mutant League Football from Sega Genesis.
Front Page Sports Baseball Pro (1998 I believe) was the most fun, if not the most intricate, baseball simulator I ever played. Didn't require the sheer amount of time demanded by OOTP.

Kid Icarus (already mentioned)
NiGHTS
Shining Force
While I doubt many here have played it, I'd like to see Sega continue with Shenmue, as they set it all up and then sort've left it hanging.
I would say Double Dwibble or Tecmo Super Bowl, but those are "re-made" every year in a way.

How about Blades of Steel, you know the fighting game, that you can play hockey in??? Awesome stuff. It could be called Street Fighter 5...On Ice.
Heck...Chun-Li is already dressed for it!!

You know...it worked for Metroid, how about a Mega Man first person?

I really liked Mega Man Legends. They could make another in that vein and I'd be pleased.

Only if they make it a complete remake complete with CutMan, RockMan, and Dr. Wily looking like that egghead guy from Sonic the Hedgehog.

That actually sounds brilliant. I would buy that in a second. I can't believe they haven't thought of that.

Do you have a PS3? There's a new downloadable game called Age of Booty that gives you a pirate experience, complete with online play. It's only $10. I haven't played online yet, but the missions against the computer are fun.

I was going to say Bionic Commando, but just saw that they already remade that, came out in May. Anybody play it?

Love the Double Dragon idea, they need more co-op side scrolling fighting games, like this or Final Fight or Streets of Rage.
Wouldn't mind seeing a new 1st person take on Contra. Multplayer could be insane...especially with the Spread Gun :)

Yeah, 1st person Contra would probably be sweet, if done right.

I kind of liked Final Fight Streetwise for the PS2 and XBox. They had the updated 3D story version and two versions of the side scroller, the new and the old one. It was pretty enjoyable and had a little replay value. Even if it was mostly to see what artists did what songs in the game. There were alot of artists I hadn't heard before in the game.

Did you have to share a system with a friend or sibling who insisted on playing it for hours? I have the same contempt for the game T&C Surfdesigns.

No, what I really hated was that first weapon you had to have for a long time. I guess it was a club but it was the size of a hot dog, and just as effective. The enemies in that game were so annoying.
I absolutely love T&C Surf Designs. Great game.

TIE Fighter. That game was a blast to play.
TIE Fighter was awesome.
Grim Fandango
I definitely back a remake of Grim Fandango. The atmosphere of the game was awesome. Music, scenery, art-deco architecture, day of the dead theme, the use of flowers, etc. That was one of the greats.
My two:
Starcraft -- Looks like I'll get my wish with this one when Starcraft 2 comes out. Too bad my computer won't even come close to being able to run it.
and
Final Fantasy Tactics -- I loved the chess-like set up to this game. I don't play video games very much anymore, so maybe something like this came out and I missed it.

They made versions for the handheld systems. The one for PSP has some really nice cell-shaded animated cutscenes, and they added a couple extra jobs. I think a sequel to the DS version came out over the summer.
There isn't a huge library of Strategy RPG games out there that I'm aware of, but Disgaea was really good too.
