Arenas seems to think it would be better for the team in the long run.
What do you think?
Are we finishing well below .500 this year?

I think we're below .500 this year. This team looks bad....really bad. Outside of Jamison and Butler, no one is playing well. Although, I do like what I've seen of McGee thus far.
I'm really disappointed in the lack of defense this team continually plays. Nick Young is horrible defensively, and rarely do I see the guy pass the ball.

This team, like the Orioles, though they could be better competitors with small fixes and minor players. Besides Arenas and Caron I would blow this team up.
Blatch does not look like a long term answer, who has seen Pecherov do anything. Songaila is a joke and the bigs are questionable. I love to see them trade Jamison and get a better defensive presence inside. Thomas and Haywood are not too stellar either. Jamison and pieces for Marion? Could it work?
Arenas
Young
Butler
Marion
McGee
That I could go for.

Seriously Gil was right. Shouldn't have said it but he is right. Tank this year, get yourself a top 5 pick and if he actually comes back at or near full strength next year you are in great shape.

Gil got criticized, but only because he said what we've all already been thinking. I'm a huge fan of keeping teams together. I think that in many cases, that's a downfall of many organizations. If it doesn't work one year, let's make an exciting deal and try again. The Wizards have not done that, but I'm not sure we have the pieces to make a serious run. Mcgee is raw, but I like what he brings. He's not a great player yet, but if he continues to work with the right people, he could really be a nice part of our future. Blatche and Pecherov are busts, flat out. Songaila is a great role player on any team, but he shouldn't play more than 5-10 minutes. Nick Young has a lot of natural ability, and I like how his aggressiveness has developed. He does need to work on his defense and overall team game, as once he gets the ball, he seems to pretty much mindlessly dribble until he shoots. Jamison is probably the one that needs traded, although I love him, we've invested quite a bit in Arenas, and Caron just continues to get better. The only way we finish above .500 this season is if Gil gets back sometime in December and is as good or better than he was when he left. I'm not too optimistic, I'd put us somewhere around 30 wins this season.

This team is borderline unwatchable. The only players who really looks like they belong on an NBA court are the forwards. The guards are horrible. The "big men" are a joke. Vale looks like he could be good, but he just gets pushed around down low. The team plays no defense, which has been a staple of all Eddie Jordan teams. This season has disaster written all over it.
