With the first showings starting in about 10 min, I was just curious if anyone was going to see this. I'm trying to get to see it, but I'm afraid with all the tweeny-boppers out it will be horrible trying to go see it.

Why would you want to see this? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't it targeted to teenage girls?

I really don't understand how such a huge movie can look so much like it was made on a shoestring budget in someone's backyard. It looks like Vampire Clerks.

Wiki says it cost 37 million dollars. How is that possible? Is there a big Titanic boat they're not showing in the trailers? Did the kid who played Cedric Diggory cost 36.9 million?

And young women still caught in their teenage years. My wife just woke me up coming home from a midnight showing... Her and her friends are all real into this stuff.

But yeah, it's for the ladies, right?

I believe you answered your own question.

From The Sun = Action in 'Twilight' has no fangs (http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/movies/reviews/bal-to.twilight21nov21,0,1707833.story)

'Twilight' sucks all the suspense and action out of a vampire's romance with a teen girl

From msn's scathing pan, (http://movies.msn.com/movies/pmg/twilight-review/?GT1=28131) one of the more hilarious similes I've seen in a while:

Like a taco burp, [Twilight's humor] arises unbidden at all the wrong moments.

Read the books this summer while I was stuck in the house with mono. Have watched every decent vampire show since Buffy and loosely True Blood. And Harry Potter was aimed at 6 year old kids and teen girls too, but it seems to be doing pretty well in the larger market.

Besides the dumb mushy crap, there is a surprising amount of people getting ripped to shreds and xmen-like super powers that are just enough to make things interesting if done right.

Yet another reason to put it off. The books have a decent amount of action in them, but I was a little worried that they would drop some of that to make it 90210 with vampires.

Have you seen Let the Right One In? It's playing in DC. If you like vampire stuff, you can't miss it.

That was my exact fear for this movie also.

I was excited when I first started reading about it and found that it was a popular book (series of books? not really sure. Seen articles referring to it as singular and plural), but once I saw the trailer, those hopes dropped like a rock.

The reviews I've seen haven't helped it either.

I've tried to justify The Twilight Saga to Hank Scorpio for days now. I've generally never been this obsessed with a series before and I've got about 10 years on those teenage girls. It's a great romance series. The author really creates some fantastic tension and suspense. I'm dragging Hank Scorpio to the movies tonight at 7:00pm!! haha. :) Go ahead, make fun of me.

Girls are allowed to like that kind of stuff. It's Hank we get to make fun of for being dragged there.

Movie Tip

Your girlfriends/wife's extra large purse can be used to transport multiple alcoholic beverages that will deaden the feelings of remorse often felt during "chick flicks"

The more you know.....:thumbsup1:

I don't even know that this is a "chick flick," but regardless I will have a good time.

Book it!!!

Saw this last night at my wife's request. She cried, I laughed, she punched me in the nads. All in all it was a good evening.

I'd rather be kicked in the face than see this movie.

I heard it was easily one of the worst movies of the year.
