He is flat out awful.
He is by far my least favorite player on the Wizards. I hate it when he does that stupid magic man thing, or you cant see me thing when he waves his hand in front of his face.
This team would be so much better without Stevensen.
This probably doesnt need it's own thread, but oh well. I really dont even know why I care, because I rarely watch the Wizards and NBA basketball.
But when I do watch, it is painful to see him play. When I came home and checked the box score for tonights game, he played over 20 minutes and scored 3 points. I see this all the time from him, I dont why he continues to see the minutes he gets.

He should be dropped and give Young a chance to really play some minutes. Why not play the young guys with the actual core?

That would imply that they have a core.;)

Should Nick Young replace Stevenson?

I'm not a fan of Stevenson either, but Young is horrible...and I mean HORRIBLE...defensively. You'd be better off having a life-size cardboard cutout of Stevenson playing defense than Nick Young.
Now, maybe him getting more time will help in that regard, because the kid is a scorer and he's never seen a shot he doesn't like.

Which could be ugly once Arenas comes back, but for now, he would just be taking his spot in the offense, Gil is the same way. Their bigger problem right now is they don't have a traditional point guard, they need one that can play D and pass the ball so that Nick and Caron could be the offense :) They are pretty horrible right now, and I see a major trade looming on the horizon.

He's the Wizards best defensive on-the-ball defender. We need him to guard opponents' really good guards (he did well enough against Kobe last night).
The problem is he provides very little offensively but he's all we've got until Gil comes back. The organization is in bad shape and it will only get worse if Arenas is unable to play like his old, explosive self.

True, but that is the problem in itself because he isn't the BEST defender either. I wish they would have signed Posey this offseason and let DS walk.

I could see one too, but who would it be? The only guys that would be marketable right now would be Jamison and Butler.

I wouldn't be surprised if we dealt Jamison. With all of the free agents that will be available in 2010, why not shake things up? I love Caron, but maybe even Caron too. If we finish terribly this year, which is quite a possibility, perhaps we can add a quality piece in the draft, make a few deals to unload some payroll, and be prepared to make a push for a player or two in 2010.

Yeah, I could see the Wiz going through a complete rebuild. It will certainly make Arenas unhappy, but I think signing him for the deal he got wasn't a smart move anyway.
Although, you could build around him and get some young, athletic guys who can actually play defense, and it may not be a bad thing. Jamison is getting a little older (though his play is still outstanding), and he'd be a great fit on a young team needing some leadership.

I could see them asking Gil who he wants to play with, and then trying to make it work. Caron is signed cheap for like 4 more years though, I don't see him going. AJ is eating up space but still we are going to trade him for a player just like him, might as well keep him. In all fairness we should let them get healthy before we try to tear down the team, evaluate the young guys we have and if they aren't going to do anything, get rid of em.
