Madden for Wii question

My kids got the Wii for Christmas, and my brother got me Madden. I am playing as Flacco and going through training camp, and my first pre-season game I won 125-0. I am NOT a regular gamer, so what gives? Do I have the skill setting on too easy? I have it set on Rookie, but this is ridiculous. Also, it automatically picked my plays. I don't know how to change them. Is this just typical of the game to get the user associated with the controls, or do I just to take it off the rookie setting? I like to win, but I want to be challenged and I want to pick my own damn plays. 125 to NOTHING? Come on!

Take it off of "Rookie" and you'll enjoy picking your own plays and the game in general. ;)

Also, auto play the preseason games. If you're going to play, might as well play games that count.
