OK, the game is on Channel 20, so I am assuming I won't be getting Smackdown tonight?

CamdenDreams

Time to get back to .500

Rafael122
04-08-2004, 07:09 PM
Jesus singles to start the game.

Mackus

Whats with this team and throwing away pickoff attempts?

Rafael122
04-08-2004, 07:11 PM
Wow, not even one out and already I'm a nervous wreck.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:12 PM
Man, Mueller looked plain stupid during that at bat.

Mackus

Is it raining there or is my TV fuzzy?

CamdenDreams

I just heard damp...doesn't appear to be rain.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:15 PM
Riley is throwing pretty ard tonight.

93-94 on every fastball.

Why Not?
04-08-2004, 07:17 PM
Did anyone notice that the on-screen scoreboard said "NYY" instead of "BOS" for most of the first inning?

Rafael122
04-08-2004, 07:17 PM
1-0 Sox. Unearned run, because of the Riley error.

baltos
04-08-2004, 07:18 PM
actually it is earned

BaltBird 24
04-08-2004, 07:21 PM
These umps sucked. That was strike 3 on Millar.

CamdenDreams
04-08-2004, 07:23 PM
Closed out well enough, no real damage done.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:23 PM
29 pitches in the first inning. Hopefully he can be a bit more efficient than that the rest of the way.

He seems to be throwing pretty well but having some difficulties controlling the curve. The fastball has been good though.

BaltBird 24
04-08-2004, 07:24 PM
End of the top of the 1st. Riley already has 29 pitches. Looks like another long night for the pen.

BaltBird 24
04-08-2004, 07:24 PM
Camden Yards empty again, btw.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:25 PM
If need be Rodrigo can probably go 3-4 tonight. He hasn't pitched since Sunday.

DoobyDoo
04-08-2004, 07:26 PM
Should've been more like 23 pitches since that should've been strike three on Millar. Hopefully, Riley will be more pitch efficient.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:27 PM
BRob should steal second here against Wakefield. The ball takes 3 minutes to get to the plate.

baltos
04-08-2004, 07:27 PM
Nicw AB for BRob, maybe he can get on base a few times tonight

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:28 PM

baltos
04-08-2004, 07:28 PM
good call Mackus

Mackus

Mora K, Tejada groundout to third. Runner on second 2 outs.

BaltBird 24
04-08-2004, 07:31 PM
O's trying to waste the leadoff hitter on 2nd with no outs.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:32 PM
What the hell is this shift?

Poker Reese is behind second, and Mark Bellhorn is 40 feet into the outfield behind first base.

Pipman
04-08-2004, 07:33 PM
They've used that shift earlier in the series. Hopefully Raffy does like opening night and pokes it through the SS hole

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:33 PM
Damn. Palmeiro flies out to the warning track in deep right center. I thought that one was gone.

BaltBird 24
04-08-2004, 07:34 PM
Go to hell, Damon.

No this is new I think. Although I didn't see the whole game last night.

Bellhorn is not in the infield. He is playing about what short field is in tee-ball.

CamdenDreams
04-08-2004, 07:34 PM
Damn you Johnny Haircut!

CamdenDreams

They did the shift in the first two games of the season that I went to.

I thinkis a diffrent shift. I watched all of Opening night and went to the game Tuesday. They had the shortstop behind second base but left the second baseman in the infield I beleive.

Tonihgt he was almost halfway between the right fielder and the edge of the infield. Maybe its the same and I just didn't recognize it before.

BaltBird 24
04-08-2004, 07:38 PM
Riley sure has his A stuff so far tonight.

BigDave401

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:41 PM
Nasty fastball for the K to end the inning 3 up 3 down.

He was much more efficient that inning.

CamdenDreams
04-08-2004, 07:41 PM

BaltBird 24

Riley K's Reese to end the 2nd.

baltos
04-08-2004, 07:41 PM
I was at the Wednesday afternoon game and Bellhorn played Raffy in short right.

I think it depends on baserunners as to how hard they shift him.

CamdenDreams
04-08-2004, 07:44 PM
Another leadoff double and Damon falls down.

Mackus
04-08-2004, 07:44 PM
Bloop double for Lopez. Lets see if we can do anything with runner on second no outs this inning.

Gibby
04-08-2004, 07:48 PM
Can the Knuckleball move as well in the rain? I think the rain might somehow impede it's flight...

That's exactly how I feel. It's almost like he's trying to put on a show for someone. The fact that he's playing his best is great, but not when it's at our expense.

baltos

Riley still cruising pretty good.

2 runs, 3 hits, 4 K's through 6 innings.

Ryan needs to get out of this one. I'd bring the infield in because I doubt we double up Damon.

That was Mazilli's fault. He's gotta know Francona is gonna pitch out there. He did it on Tuesday and got burned as well.

He still sucks if you put him in the 9th inning. He was great for us in the 7th and 8th. He just can't close a game to save his life.

Timlin's a great middle reliever.

To be honest, I'm just happy they got out of that last inning. Hopefully Ryan and Julio can shut them down the next two inning, and Palmiero/Lopez/Gibbons can score some runs.

They tried to throw a high fastball by him and he hit a bullet right up the middle. Too bad it was that high or he coulda got under it and hit it out.
