Is this guy putting us on or not? He seems to be channeling Andy Kauffman lately. Anyone see him on Letterman?
BTW, Phoenix got some vintage Letterman treatment. I wish his show was like that more often.

Tony had a thread up in Hangout Club about it, this is what I said there:
From what I understand, this is a Andy Kaufmann-esque project. He's going to film a mockumentary about Joaquin Phoenix, movie actor who goes off the deep end and tries to become a rapper. Of course, the joke is, he's actually performing this entire time so the mockumentary is more like living theatre caught on film.
Apparantely, when he originally started talking about doing this, nobody knew that it was "ultimately" fake, but as time went on, people close to the project let it leak (kind of how the closer Blair Witch Project came to releasing the more you found out it wasn't real at all).
Ultimately, I think this is going to basically do exactly what Andy Kaufmann stunts did. Confuse and frighten and turn off people, but years later people will talk about how genius it was.
