Hey folks-
The O's are set to face off with the Washington Nationals in DC from May 22nd through May 24th. Anyone interested in an official Orioles Hangout Night in DC? Let me know!

Not sure if I'll be in the area, but this is a great idea.

Some of my best Orioles experiences with my fellow fans came in enemy ballparks.

I'll never forget leading a small but vocal contingent of Baltimore fans in an Orioles cheer to the tune of the Braves' chant as the Birds prepared to sweep a three game series in Atlanta in '97. Those poor Braves fans looked like they'd never encountered anything quite like us before.

Get some drinks at Clyde's in Gallery Place -- hop on a train en masse and you're, what, 4 stops away from the Navy Yard?

I'd try to make it. Nats' Park is only about hour, hour-and-fifteen from my house, compared to close to two hours for OPACY.

I'm interested in attending one of those games.

Last year, a buddy of mine got to throw out a first pitch (courtesy of a Papa Johns contest and being in the Army). Long story short, it was cool being on the field while they sang the anthem, threw the first pitch, etc... got to be on the field while Utley, Howard, Werth, Zimmerman, Flores, etc. took their warm-up swings. Ryan Howard signed a ball for by buddy's kid. It was cool, and I now consider myself a veteran of that stadium.

Still haven't seen the O's play there though.

I live in Northern Virginia and go to lots of Nats games. My friends and I always take the short hike over to the Hill where there a decent number of bars. It's like a half mile walk or so... bracing.

Bad neighborhood around that stadium (whats left of it after they tore half it down to build the ballpark).

Also, in Capitol Hill they offer free "green" taxis as long as you tip to the stadium. I did this twice last year after getting brews in CH.

I am so down for this. I live within walking distance of the stadium (Bolling AFB), so me and the wife could def. make it to this. It would be a great thing to take over an enemy's ballpark like the Sox and Yanks fans do to our home turf. If anyone needs a place to stay when the time gets a little closer, PM me and I can make arrangements to have you get on base. I only have one spare room so first come first serve on that. :laughlol::laughlol:

By the way, Oriole fans are very well represented at these games. It's almost like going to a Yankee game at OPACY.

I'll be attending the games on Fri and Sat, but unable to do the Sunday game. I also have space in my van if people want to carpool or need a lift. I seat 7 and only have 2 in my family. I should note that my other is a 13 year old so no drinking with my ride.
