Ugh! What an awful awful selection. It looks like I'll have my choice of Santana, Utley, Miguel Cabrera or Ryan Braun.
Thoughts on any of these guys? I may go with a bat and hope I can snag Lincecum on the way back...thoughts on him?
I pick 10th in a 13 team league. Pretty standard rotisserie scoring.

Hmm...yeah, in a baseball draft I'd almost always rather have a Top 5 pick to gurantee a position player stud, rather than in a football draft where I like drafting at the bottom of the first round.
I usually look for position players from a position that isn't very deep. Do you have 1B, 2B, 3B, and SS, and just generic OF, or all generic IF too? I like getting a position with only a couple offensive studs, and getting a 1B, OF'ers later in the draft.

Such a tough draw in a fantasy baseball league. I just don't have a good feeling about Utley this season. I can't back it up with any solid information, but I've been right on a few hunches before. I probably wouldn't go with Cabrera. I'm not a big fan of taking a first baseman early, being that it is probably the deepest position excluding outfield. I would try to target Chris Davis a bit later, he will absolutely mash this season and give you the duel 1B/3B eligibility, which can be convenient.
I also don't like taking a pitcher first, but in this situation it might not be terrible. If you were to snag Santana, then taking a hitter in the next round, and possibly a pitcher in the third round, you could ignore pitching for a little while, with 2 aces to anchor your staff. Again, not really a preferred strategy, but it's decent.
I like Ryan Braun. I'd like him more at 3B, but he's a stud young hitter. 35ish HR 300 AVG and 100+ RBI's are nice, and even a nice handful of steals. If I were you, I would either go with him or Santana. You probably can't necessarily go wrong with any of these guys, but this is a just a little bit about what I think, for what it's worth. Tough draw man, good luck with it and the rest of your season. Get Shin Soo Choo in the later rounds as your fifth outfielder!

If you go bat, I'd go with Braun if he falls that far. Lincecum has been going somewhere around there in the drafts I've been in so far. Pitching has been really deep this year and you can get some great value later on. Kazmir in the 8th, Baker in the 13th. Stuff like that. Go bats early, the bigger the better. Keep in mind there is a chance Utley isn't ready for a month or so to start the season, he was originally supposed to miss half the season, and they are working Donald out at 2B to replace him for a while.

Braun and Cabrera probably won't fall to ten. If they do, I'd consider both to be good picks. Cabrera underperformed in the first half of last year and Braun is steady as they come.
You'll more likely be choosing from guys like Hamilton, Rollins, Kinsler, Howard, Tex, etc. Rollins is heavily underrated; last year was a down year, and after him, shortstop falls off a cliff. The gap between Rollins and the next-best SS is bigger than any other positional gap. Kinsler is also pretty great. Hamilton is hugely overrated and OF is easy this year.
None of these are horrible picks and pick 16 isn't bad either.

I also had the 10th pick in my draft. I did get Braun. Utley and Cabrera were both gone. I would have taken Braun anyway. Santana was still there. I took Teixeira on the way back.

Me too. I picked 10th and was happy to have Braun still on the board.

Who would you pick 2nd? Quick, I've got 10 minutes.

I wanted Hanley, but took Pujols.
