Guthrie vs Glen

(I could have sworn I saw Ricky Nolasco as the scheduled starter...)

Buck Martinez already pronouncing Cesar Izturis' name like "Caeser" (as in the salad) instead of "Say-Czar"

Rocky start for Guthrie

Guthrie was not real sharp but still made several real nice pitches that inning.

Freel lead off double!

How can you not love this guy's hustle?

Gurgi

Freel scorches a fastball and doubles off the left field wall. Ran hard the whole way and beat the throw by a half step.

Lol Freel's helmet looks 2 sizes to big :D

Freel tests Maybin's arm and wins

Anyone thought right there that Freel wasn't going for it? No chance.

Maybe Buck knows something we don't in this case. He was Izturis's manager for a year in Toronto. Then again, maybe he pronounced his name wrong even then.

Brady Anderson is talking to Amber! He still looks great.

2 run homer. It really seems like everything Guthrie throws is getting hit HARD. Even the foul balls.

Haha, I like how Trembley said there'd have to be a delay during the regular season if the O's have a bad inning while he's being interviewed on live TV.

isestrex
04-01-2009, 01:54 PM
They aren't going to be interviewing the manager DURING the inning are they? I thought that was just a spring training thing. During the regular season if they do interview the manager it should be BETWEEN innings.

On MASN they definitely interview the manager while the game is going on. They did it plenty of times last season.

You could see Trembley's face getting more and more red every time they cut back to him during that interview.

Boy, the Orioles could not have picked a worse time this spring to put up a stinker. MASN shows off there new HD channel and Guthrie looks like an A-ball pitcher while the A-ball pitcher the MArilns are throwing looks like he's carving up the Orioles hitters. Yuck!!!!!

according to Roch it's 7-1 Marlins in the 5th.

Guthrie is getting lit up like a christmas tree, something like 9 hits in less than 5 IP.

Ugly outing by Guthrie. That was nice of him to still go on the air and talk about how badly he performed.

10-1 Marlins. The only good news is that maybe Baez will continue to pitch so poorly he forces the Orioles to release him. He's just horrible.

Baez has come on nad been pretty bad. The ball is all over the place, especially high in the zone.

11-1 Florida now with 2 out in the top of the 5th.

I don't think I've ever seen so many balls hit over the heads of outfielders.... It looks like batting practice for the Marlins. And...either the Pie, Jones and Markakis are playing way...wa-a-a-ay too shallow, or they aren't as fast as they/we think they are.

They are playing normal depth, maybe a couple steps back considering how hard the ball is being hit. The hits over their heads are line shots to right or up a bit and being pushed by the wind out to left center.

The ball is just being hit way too hard for them to get it.

Baez finally out of the inning. 11-1 still.

Markakis with a towering shot to right for a solo homer.

11-2

That ball was at least half a foot in the inside part of the plate and turned on it quickly, powering it out. Nice to see.

Update: Check-swing grounder to 2nd for a 4-3 double play. Moore mover to 3rd, 2 outs.
