Has the playoff schedule been decided yet? The Caps will open at home, right? Is there any info on date/time of that game?

They don't even know their opponent yet. There's a good chance we'll get the 2nd seed and home ice for the 1st round. Being the 2nd seed we're slated to play the 7th seed, which right now is Montreal. There's a decent possibility we could play Pittsburgh, Philly, and Carolina in the 1st round as well. If the Devils pass us and we get the 3rd seed, don't be surprised to see us play Pittsburgh in the 1st round.

1st rd games start on Thurs/Friday of next week.

Have tickets gone on sale to the general public yet? I've been trying to look around a bit but haven't seen anything.

I think it's imperative that we hold onto the 2 seed. Giving us a better chance of playing Montreal/Rangers or maybe even the Panthers. Of course a matchup against the Penguins would be super awesome, but that's something I want to see in the semi's or finals. As you mentioned all of those teams are really bunched up so this could change any minute. And then you've got the western conference o man is that a log jam!!

I want playoff hockey now!!!

I don't believe they have, but Stubhub has listings for tickets that are for sale.

No shot the Devils make the 2nd seed after tonight's loss (Devil's fan here). The 4 v 5 match up is pretty much locked....They still will be playing for home rink advantage.

8th seed Rangers have 91 points. (2 games left)
7th seed Candiens have 92 points. (2)
6th seed Penguins have 93 points. (3)

I don't think the Panthers are going to make it now. 2 games left and they need 3 points to overtake the Rangers 9th place.

Good to see the Caps doing so well. I've kinda morphed into a Sharks fan since I've lived out here for ten years. I'd have a really hard time rooting against the Caps though. In fact I doubt if I could. I need a drink.

They open on the 15th and then play on National TV (NBC) on the 18th. Then go to NY for games 3/4 on the 20th and 22nd.

Is anyone going to the game tomorrow night? I'm thinking about picking up a ticket from stubhub. They have some tickets upstairs for 65 bucks. I wonder if there will be any people selling them outside the arena before hand...
