Fun fact from Roch ...

The Rays are a collective 0-for-25 against Adam Eaton, so grab a comfortable seat and get ready for a no-hitter.

Not that the chant is particularly witty or effective, but the two or three people chanting "Eva" at Longoria is coming through pretty clearly and making me laugh a little.

That wasn't a bad pitch by Eaton, either. Longoria's just hitting anything in the vicinity of home plate.

It does seem that when he gets ahead he starts wasting pitches. Which is what almost everybody did when Ramon was giving them targets. Nothing wrong with making them go after a bad ball, but you've gotta make them look good. Getting ahead and then throwing pitches that are obviously balls doesn't help anything.

Dunno what's best. With some guys, if you see a good looking pitch, you better swing, otherwise they'll eat you up. The "being patient" thing is a rule that varies, based on who you're facing.

Because AM thinks his stuff is good enough to maybe do better than that. Maybe not a lot better than that, but somewhat better than that.

From what I saw today, his stuff is better than that. Looks to me like nobody taught him how to pitch. Maybe they're hoping RK can smarten him up just enough to give us 6 IP at 3 ER instead of 4 IP at 4 ER. For all his jams today, the diff between 4 runs down and a mutual shutout is that 1 measly pitch that Crawford turned into a triple. I wish he had been throwing to Zaun.
