If you had to choose between Backstrom and Semin, which one would you resign long term?

Easily Backstrom.
If someone offered us a stud defender for Semin, I'd do it quickly. Backstrom, I would be FAR more reluctant to trade.

Easier to find a goal scoring fragile winger (see Havlat, Martin) than it is to find an elite playmaking center, which I think Nicky is on the verge of. He finished what, 10th in the league in scoring this year? His second in the league?
Now if we can just get the rest of our pieces up and shed some junk salaries we will be golden for a few years.

Of course the answer should be Backstrom, but I jsut wanted to make sure everybody was on the same page. This is apparently a dilemma GMGM will be facing soon.

They can afford them both if he can dump all those crappy contracts :)
