Found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok. (Hopefully in circumstances not as tawdry as that sounds.)

Apparently at one point Fark had 97 separate submissions of this story, 13 of which were the same:

Sad to see him go, even if I really only knew him through Kill Bill, Wild West Tech and Office Space.

He was "my boy" playing Grasshopper (aka Chang Kwai Cain) on Kung Fu way back when. It was Good versus Evil with Cain always defeating those bad guys in the Old West. The stories were mesmerizing and his laid back acting style won me over. RIP David!
